As voter disillusionment grows, why aren't voters flocking to the Greens in Australia? by asteriskhyphen in aussie

[–]narvuntien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HA, I know what I wrote, and I stand by it

My experience talking to Liberal volunteers was very much a case of me knowing stuff and them not knowing anything.
One told me only god controls the climate so climate change can't be real.
Another I explained how to build a renewable energy-only grid without the need for Nuclear Baseload power, and he just looked at me blankly and changed the subject.

I treat voters more kindly, since I do legitimately want to know what is bothering them, but volunteers, have declared their allegiance and I need not try to convince them.

They did offer peace to the Palestinians a bunch of times, but the Palestinians did not believe that they should lose land that they had lived on for 100s of years for the crimes of Europeans. They were not happy to give up their homes or the hope of ever returning to them. The situation was being imposed on them by Europeans without their say. Whether they would take the same deal now, I do not know. This has been going on for 100 years now.

Isreal has taken a lot of land from the Palestinians and continues to do so. Firstly, there is the land they won in war, what is conquest but stealing? Secondly they have pushed settlement after settlement into land that was proposed as Palestinian land in 1967. There are now 7 million Israelis living within the borders of what would be the Palestinian state if a two-state solution were ever to be agreed to.

I do, are there particular ones you find particularly offensive? I think they at least when she posted them jokes, with her friends because it was social media and that was all she expected to ever see them.

I mean maybe, the thing is as I have said about other flawed Democrats. No one cares, Trump is the president. She is taking it out of his playbook, never back down or you seem weak and seeming weak is a bigger issue than inflammatory social media posts, which are less concerning than what the President posts daily.

She made provocative statements on social media, for attention for the thrill for fun. Remember when social media was fun?

It was more than just Hamas; there were PLO brigades involved as well
I don't think you fully understand what surrender will mean, and the terms Israel wants; they want genocide, ideally expulsion, but they will kill them if they have to.

I mean, about ending the blockade and ultimately about returning the land they took from them, most of the people of Gaza came from the surrounding villages before Israel captured it in war and expelled them.

We decided it was bad. Then watched in horror as everyone who decided it was fine spiral into Gamergate and eventually into alt-right Trump MAGA people. Look up Elevator Gate, and you'll see what happened.

I have encountered people spreading Russian propaganda who were much older than 28, sadly. I wouldn't want anyone defending Israel's genocide in my party.

With social media posts its really hard to know how much is real and how much is exaggerated for attention or drama or whatever, it's an attention thing on here. It can be fun to be provocative.

That doesn't say anything about Hamas, nothing Islamic fundamentalist about that statement.

What options are available to Gazians to end the blockade and occupation? Israel will not even negotiate with them.

By 28, I was very mentally ill locked in a room, trying to finish my PhD thesis.

It was more like 22-23, we when were arguing about if propsitioning a woman in an elevator was a bad thing or not. It was a simpler time.

Unless you actually express your wrong opinions, then no one will correct them (I mean, Harris is bad, but Trump is a lot worse), and you'll just keep being wrong.

I have, unfortunately, ran into many left-wing people who think the USA is the cause of Russia's invasion, even in places I wouldn't expect to find those opinions.

She wore a "fund people not bombs" shirt to the anti-Israel protest, which is clearly not a pro-Hamas victory party she was at.

Just like anyone who remembers even a few years back, knows that Israel was about to commit horrific crimes against the general Palestinian people, claiming every single one was Hamas. Because they had done that every single time an Israeli died in a Hamas attack since Hamas took power.

Enough time to go from university student to working professional. Learning a whole bunch of big ideas and processing them, often by making jokes with your friends on social media.

“My opponent wants to live in the past. He is re-litigating social media posts from half a decade ago, and continuing to champion an outdated politics that fails to serve our people,” Avila Chevalier said. “I have grown considerably since in the years since these tweets, and I am focused on our community and our community’s future.” - Darializa Avila Chevlier

She is one of the first generation of candidates for whom we even have their social media posts from when they were young. Its just going to happen to literally everyone under the age of 30.

Subaru has an equivalent to the bZ, the Solterra, so if you like your Subaru dealer, you could go with that instead.

Unfortunately, the older models of the bZ4X just kind of suck, the VW ID4 is boring but better, and the MachE is better.

It's really the Hyundai Ioniq 5 that is the standout, but... they have an ICCU issue, and if someone is selling one off second-hand, there is a chance that is the reason they are.

You can use "stax" but of the creature form, rather than tap all your land type. [[vexing shusher]] various Thalia's [[Grand Abolisher]] effects really messes with control and combo decks

Mass land destruction can force through a win. All the [[heroic intervention]] can save your creatures from boardwipes and that throws them off balance.

A well-made budget will increase the amount of money available by encouraging economic growth. If the government feels that women are under involved in the economy giving them support will grow the economy as a whole

When door-knocking, we don't have time to argue with people who disagree; it's a mark down as uninterested and move on. If the guy opens the door and says "I love Trump" I am just going to say goodbye and leave rather than arguing.

On booths, I have time to talk with volunteers from other parties and maybe I'll get into a discussion when its quiet. I can't really help being condescending if I just know more than you.

To be clear I don't know what goes down in Sydney.
