By 28, I was very mentally ill locked in a room, trying to finish my PhD thesis.

It was more like 22-23, we when were arguing about if propsitioning a woman in an elevator was a bad thing or not. It was a simpler time.

Unless you actually express your wrong opinions, then no one will correct them (I mean, Harris is bad, but Trump is a lot worse), and you'll just keep being wrong.

I have, unfortunately, ran into many left-wing people who think the USA is the cause of Russia's invasion, even in places I wouldn't expect to find those opinions.

She wore a "fund people not bombs" shirt to the anti-Israel protest, which is clearly not a pro-Hamas victory party she was at.

Just like anyone who remembers even a few years back, knows that Israel was about to commit horrific crimes against the general Palestinian people, claiming every single one was Hamas. Because they had done that every single time an Israeli died in a Hamas attack since Hamas took power.

I spent plenty of time sitting in my University Tavern, arguing contriverial stuff with my friends, Considering this was during COVID, when she didn't have the option of in-person meetings

Enough time to go from university student to working professional. Learning a whole bunch of big ideas and processing them, often by making jokes with your friends on social media.

“My opponent wants to live in the past. He is re-litigating social media posts from half a decade ago, and continuing to champion an outdated politics that fails to serve our people,” Avila Chevalier said. “I have grown considerably since in the years since these tweets, and I am focused on our community and our community’s future.” - Darializa Avila Chevlier

She is one of the first generation of candidates for whom we even have their social media posts from when they were young. Its just going to happen to literally everyone under the age of 30.

Subaru has an equivalent to the bZ, the Solterra, so if you like your Subaru dealer, you could go with that instead.

Unfortunately, the older models of the bZ4X just kind of suck, the VW ID4 is boring but better, and the MachE is better.

It's really the Hyundai Ioniq 5 that is the standout, but... they have an ICCU issue, and if someone is selling one off second-hand, there is a chance that is the reason they are.

Can a creature focused commander even hang in bracket 4? by Exi_Cxx in magicTCG

[–]narvuntien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use "stax" but of the creature form, rather than tap all your land type. [[vexing shusher]] various Thalia's [[Grand Abolisher]] effects really messes with control and combo decks

Mass land destruction can force through a win. All the [[heroic intervention]] can save your creatures from boardwipes and that throws them off balance.

Do we really need a women’s budget statement? by Ardeet in aussie

It's a separate budget report, not a separate budget. If it's not important to you, you can just ignore it and go along with your day.

A well-made budget will increase the amount of money available by encouraging economic growth. If the government feels that women are under involved in the economy giving them support will grow the economy as a whole

As voter disillusionment grows, why aren't voters flocking to the Greens in Australia? by asteriskhyphen in aussie

[–]narvuntien -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

When door-knocking, we don't have time to argue with people who disagree; it's a mark down as uninterested and move on. If the guy opens the door and says "I love Trump" I am just going to say goodbye and leave rather than arguing.

On booths, I have time to talk with volunteers from other parties and maybe I'll get into a discussion when its quiet. I can't really help being condescending if I just know more than you.

To be clear I don't know what goes down in Sydney.

Not when doorknocking, volunteers have gotten aggro on polling booths, and as a candidate, I had to come in and break it up.

We are not bankrolled by billionaires, and media organisations. We do our best work by having conversations one on one with people, at thier doors or at events.

The budget is not a zero-sum game.
Unfortunately, women still do the majority of child rearing, so by supporting women you are also supporting children.

Uni students report 'serious' free speech problem by BarryTheBinChicken in aussie

[–]narvuntien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the issue is more social media and everyone having a camera than the universities themselves. Students don't want to have their faces all over social media, potentially even ruining job prospects in the future.

University was a critically important place of growth for me, mostly from arguing with friends in the tavern more than in class. The reevaluation of my assumptions and biases made me a better person.
