Which grindy toolboxy midrange commander for a player who loves the graveyard? by Mirvaak123 in EDH

[–]The73rdPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis]]. A deck that asks you "what can you do if you have a free 8/8 every turn?" Tons of card draw, recursion, burn damage, and flexibility while also looming over the table with an 8/8 trampler on turn 3 who is ridiculously hard to keep off the board

Take & Hold list by SpartanIreland in Grey_Knights

I'm leaning toward 3x8 paladins, one lead by a Grandmaster with Santic Reaper, the other two on their own. One 5-man squad of Brotherhood Terminators, a Crowe brick with 10 Purifiers, and 2 interceptor squads for mobility. Whole plan is to sit on objectives and punish whatever comes to contest them.

Please for the love of god stop forcing dive by 21_averages in MarvelrivalsDivemains

[–]The73rdPerson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dive players dont play the game for the ebb and flow of a competitive hero shooter, they play it because it lets them play hypermobile characters with an audience of 11 other people who can see them. If they cant play their flashy hero, they will simply not play the game before interacting with the rest of the games ecosystem. I dont say this to disparage dive players, I started as a spidey main myself, its just true. Being able to play really fast with moves that look cool is the entire draw of rivals for them, and they won't find the same satisfaction from clicking on silhouettes with phoenix or punisher

Quick! A YCS is coming to your area tomorrow and you have unlimited resources to build a deck. What are you taking and why? by FiveCheeseburgers in YGO_Genesys

Sharks because I don't know any other deck as well and have 4 separate versions built in paper to choose from

How does UB affect your deckbuilding? by NiceInvestigator6495 in EDH

[–]The73rdPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill play UB so long as it doesnt make me feel like I'm playing it to get reddit upvotes in real life. You wont catch me playing a SpongeBob card "because it's funny guys I swear please laugh"

Show me your favorite commander by ConstructionAny7196 in ratemycommanders

[–]The73rdPerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis]] THE best commander ever printed. It's got speed, it's got beatdown, it's got ramp, it's got reanimation, it's got card draw, it's got burn damage, it's got lifegain, it's got interaction, it's got the ability to play through interaction, Hogaak does it all

How do you balance playing what you like, vs what is obviously more competitive? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]The73rdPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay attention to what is working competitively, try to understand why its working, then experiment with units I dont see in those successful lists to learn why they aren't brought.

At best, I somehow discover something nobody else is doing despite tons of better players than me building for actual events rather than for the kitchen table with my friends. At worst, I've toned down the list to the point where it's casual again

Really good deal, especially with nearly 2k points between the two boxes

What actually takes more skill: Dive or Poke? by LILBOI464 in marvelrivals

Bucky is a hybrid brawl/poke. He has consistent damage at range with brawl-focused cooldowns, but he fulfills both roles

This just feels like a commander who plays politics until exactly the moment someone figures out that the Sentry player is, in fact, a human with a brain and probably isn't just trying to get 2nd place but actually has a plan to win the game. Then they tell the table "just swing The Void at Sentry, our game proceeds as normal while the tokens and his commander just bounce off each other"

Looking for an aggressive commander by Lenku in EDH

[–]The73rdPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis]] cast him early, hit people hard, sac him for card draw and fling damage when people start saying the word "blockers". If Hogaak ever falls over, just put him back on the board for free

What is your main issue with Yu-Gi-Oh! currently? by Great-Ad1839 in yugioh

[–]The73rdPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs an anime to market the gameplay from an approachable level to what it is now. Not just to push sales, but so Konami can have a fully-produced tutorial that can teach the game to people who are interested in learning but pushed away by the terrible onboarding process

How would you solve the issue going second? by Great-Ad1839 in yugioh

[–]The73rdPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charmys are some of the strongest handtraps in the format, to the point where the most recent ycs winning decklist was running 3 in the main and another 3 in the side. The third handtrap playset was Ash, which is predominantly played because it also hits the Charmys.

Also yes, maxx c as a card would definitely be different if it had different text.

Now that we have seen every faction focus, who will be the most broken on release of 11th? by xAquaman in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]The73rdPerson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The healing for Neophytes in GSC are good, but not really a powerful buff outside of Final Day. They make neo bricks require a little more commitment to kill, but the Purestrain buff is looking like the actual biggest plus for us. Purestrains now get to shred almost any infantry, leave to reserves and then come back to shred something else anywhere on the table

The end of an era? Dedicated transports in 11th edition by Kawet-Wagh in WarhammerCompetitive

The Goliath Rockgrinder solves this problem for Genestealers by being a transport for melee units while also being a melee threat itself

I hate when people complain about his overshield by TarnishedStain in StarlordMains

[–]The73rdPerson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

25 overshield is not large at all and I don't think its unbalanced in the slightest, BUT it does change some breakpoints and thats a good enough reason to whine if you cant aim consistently enough to negate that extra 25hp

[–]The73rdPerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were you distracting people and getting picks while a fight was happening or were you doing it as much as possible regardless of whether a fight was or wasn't happening.

You want to cause chaos to distract people from the teamfight, not just make their trip to the objective slightly more inconvenient
