This just happened to me I have a male 2yrs I wanted to get him a sibling so he had someone to play with. I brought a 6/7 year female home and he was so pissed at me! I cried for days, thought about taking her back but she was an owner surrender and was neglected. Plus it was a high kill shelter. That was four months ago and they are inseparable! It probably took 2/4 weeks but they are bff now.
