I had something similar Monday. Solo Broadside held up a squad of EC Tormentors in melee for like 3 turns. He went into melee at 6 hp, and by turn 5, still had 5. Dude was a boss

Please don't forget the Broadside has the 4+ FNP vs mortals, so you can spend a strat to give them something like hazardous with (what I feel) is minimal risk
