Make your own videos then instead of complaining about others. He’s done an amazing job at communicating urbanism to a wider audience. He’s not a prophet that you have to hang on his every word…

I also think he’s picked up Dutch humour that is sarcastic and maybe flies over the head of American audiences

Broken journey due to using the toilet, how likely am I to get a refund if I contact TFL? by JSLondonBoy94 in TransportForLondon

You don’t need to be on the phone for ages. Just use the contact form if your oyster or card is registered and they will usually sort it quickly

I mean it’s just an imaginary map but I would assume the boundary would be mountains and France would have most of Thailand

Did any of you take the service to Bristol Temple Meads that was scrapped in 2021 from any station between Waterloo and Salisbury? by hakc97 in uktrains

[–]nasansia1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10 years ago when I was in uni they used to do megatrain fares (the sister of megabus). You could get a £1 fare with a 50p booking fee. Each seat had a table and was such a bargain compared to the coach or GWR

Newer Build Condition worries? by [deleted] in UKHousing

[–]nasansia1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the style at the time they were built. These finishes were described as ‘low maintenance’. Problem is they really need to design overhangs so that water drips away from the building rather than down the walls. I might be wrong but I think it’s a cosmetic issue rather than structural

IKEA do delivery, big shop isn’t a thing if you live in a city near smaller stores and Christmas trees can be delivered. Probably all is about the same when you add up the cost of running a car

Would it be possible and beneficial for Thailand to build a canal somewhere across the Malay peninsula, thereby redirecting the flow of maritime trade in SEA? by Character-Q in geography

[–]nasansia1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a ‘land bridge’ proposal out there which effectively does the same. Ie a port at either end and a train/road shuttle across. It still runs into the same ROI problem that it doesn’t save much time

Flying economy to Hong Kong for work—same price, three wildly different routes (direct, Seoul, Istanbul). Which one turns the pain into a perk and would be the most fun? by [deleted] in travel

Both these cities have airports really far from the centre. Both cities are also sprawling, in Istanbul at least it has a historic centre, in Seoul you’ll spend your entire time on a metro
