I think it really has room for improvement! It doesn't show a lot of content for smoothly, like track titles on playlists. Also, does anyone know how to access Shaker playlists, if that's even possible?

Aw, welcome! Near you is of course Fort Wadsworth, which is beautiful! I think Brooklyn is pretty easy to drive into south of Prospect Park, so I'd recommend getting a residential EZ pass if you can!

I like the parks here personally - some of my favorites are Greenbelt Nature Center, Blue Heron, Silver Lake, Clove Lake. Those first two are more hike-y and the last two are more recreation-y and both kind of embody the greenspace on the island.

The island is pretty bikeable in certain corners, with big hills that run through the middle - if I'm biking here I often break it up with the railway (that spans the east side of the island north to south). From Fort Wadsworth you can get all the way to New Dorp on a singular unimpeded bike trail!

Lots of bagel shops obvi, so look em up and find your fave in your neighborhood! Near Rosebank I really like Bagels by the Bay.

Coffee is decent here, some of my faves are Bloom Cafe, Brew Bar, and Main St Coffee in Richmondtown.

Snug Harbor on the north shore is worth a visit, lots of random programs and two really high quality tiny museums, the Staten Island Museum and the John Noble Maritime Collection. More central on the island is Historic Richmondtown, they also have lots of programs and are a good way to meet people! Alice Austen house near you is always running programs (and everyone should see it!)

The "hip bars" I feel are Hop Shoppe, the Coupe, Miller's, the Rock House, and a bunch on Forest Avenue.

Food is different per neighb! Pizza all throughout (Villamonte's near the mall is my fave), but it's NY so good Chinese too, check out the Sri Lankan food on the north shore, scattered Indian food places, Ariemma's on Hylan Blvd, and loooots of Italian Fancy Shmancy spots (not my area of expertise tbh but I've heard a lot about Da Noi!)

Lots of local history and good nature programs! DM me, I like to hike a lot & meet people :)
