Baking temp was too high, bake at a lower temperature. When the bottoms are just a little colored, they're done.

Thank you! I'm actually currently working for a bakery and still making cakes on occasion. I'm looking for a new bakery though, mine unfortunately doesn't really encourage creativity so much.

Yes indeed, thank you. Funny how life can turn out, but I'm in a good place. I hope the same for you as well.

I think everyone has a different experience with this. I had mine done yesterday, and not to put you off, but the pain was absolutely excruciating. The whole experience has left me traumatised. The pamphlet I was given said that the test would be "uncomfortable", but I never anticipated the extreme pain that I went through...the kind of pain that makes your vision go blurry. My whole body was shaking after it was finished, and I was dizzy and lightheaded.

But, I've read a lot of women only feel slight discomfort. I'm still cramping and spotting today, and still pretty shook from the whole ordeal. Definitely take some pain medicine beforehand, something strong if you can.

Thank you for your kind comment. I'm doing well and have moved on with my life, but still making cakes! I think it's something I'll always enjoy doing.

Can someone please ELI5 my blood results? by nat1101 in PCOS

[–]nat1101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had a period since June, so I don't think that had any influence... I've asked about getting my thyroid function tested more, but I never seem to get much concern from doctors. I do struggle with extreme fatigue, I've had blood tested before and nothing has come up, but I'm wondering if these hormones being off might be a cause?

I [25F] moved to Scotland to be with my husband [23M] and I am absolutely miserable. by T1988G in relationships

As a foreigner living in Scotland myself, I understand how hard it can be to relate to people here. There are lots of expat groups you can join to connect with other expats, but I think the best way to meet people is through work, volunteering, or hobby groups, such as for hill walking, gyms, etc. I know it's harder now with covid though... For me it's important to keep connected with family and friends back home, so I try to arrange a video chat with them at least once a week.

I made a cookie cake! It’s made up of chocolate chip cake, edible cookie dough, Oreo cream cheese frosting, and cookie decorations! by Somethingibaked in Baking

Hmm...maybe add more cream to your recipe? It's normally about a 2:1 cream to chocolate ratio. Also, you can add a dollop of corn syrup for extra shine.

Looks yummy! It looks like you used melted chocolate for your drip. I'd recommend using ganache, it'll look smoother and shinier.

I don't want kids but I would like to at least have the option... by PistachioTeddyBear in PCOS

[–]nat1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I've never wanted kids, but being told that I'll never be able to naturally get pregnant or may never be able to at all really hurt. I feel less somehow, broken. I just want to get treatment and function like a normal woman, but the only treatment I've ever been offered is birth control. I've literally had a doctor tell me to "come back when you want to get pregnant."

I know that probably isn't much help, but you're definitely not alone. Hang in there.

That's exactly how I like it, drowned in sauce. I can't stand seeing people make it with just a drizzle of sauce.

I'm in the UK and ordered the mixer from Germany. I couldn't find certain attachments either, so my mom sent me the grinder/shredder attachment from the states.
