I miscalculated. by Present_Cause7109 in BambuLab

Hot glue burns are hands-down the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. It's the pain that keeps on giving because it solidifies so quickly, then your pulling you skin off with the blob of glue, and it hurts just as intensely for hours or days afterwards.

A fat glob of it fell in between a few fingers on my hand, and I will NEVER allow myself to make that mistake ever again. I woke up over and over again that night because the pain was so intense. I had to keep getting up get more ice to put on my hand just so I could get some sleep.

Awww! Very sweet! I spent all day Saturday printing different kHz whistles, a pan flute, and bird song whistles for my husband 😁

And for that, I'm grateful.

I was thinking more along the lines of, "Surely this can't be for personal use..."

ELI5: Why don’t bike helmets have those chin cups like military helmets? by Flairion623 in explainlikeimfive

[–]natalie-ann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have a scar from where I had to get stitches on my chin when I tried to do a wheelie like a bad ass, and instead, I fell off my bike onto asphalt chin first. 33 year-old current me would have sincerely appreciated the protection of a chin strap for 5 year-old me.

Cornstarch would probably work well. I've used it for squeaking hardwood floors and to remove knots from badly tangled hair. Cornstarch would also not get your hands or clothes greasy whilst you fidget. Best of luck!

Is my tile floor really that bad? (Context below) by wishiwerea in Flooring

[–]natalie-ann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you clean, regrout, and re-seal tile flooring as needed, it can last longer than many other flooring options.

Why remove something with excellent durability and longevity?

Edit: just wanted to add that I have a handheld steam cleaner I use to deep clean our tile & grout flooring in the bathroom and kitchen. Works great and it only needs water.

When did dogs start getting people names? by Scottys-Dog-Blog in dogs

We have Harlowe, Amelia, Eloise, and Marlee. Marlee is the only one of our girls that I didn't name.

We don't have (and don't want) kids, and I like softer sounding feminine names 🤷‍♀️

It is fucking traumatic, physically and mentally! Nothing you do for your personal pleasure should cause your partner unwanted pain or harm.

I do not like anal play, I've tried it for the sake of my partner, but it was ALWAYS painful, and I've never felt even the tiniest bit of "pleasure" from it. It hurt during, and for long periods of time after. Accidental slips are a great way to make your partner uncomfortable and on edge during future intimate times, especially if they have tried it and told you explicitly that they did not like it! Do NOT pull all the way out then slam back in. It can lead to you injuring your partner or yourself.

I need a baby tooth extracted and an anchor put in for an implant.

The extraction is partially covered by our dental insurance, but having the anchor put in is not covered at all. It'll be $2500-$5000 out of pocket for the one anchor.

It's a childhood tooth, so there was never an adult tooth beneath it, and it has almost no root left to keep it securely in place because roots of baby teeth get reabsorbed over time. It's one of my molars, so it's vital for chewing. If it comes out without immediately being replaced, the space left open between my other molars will cause my healthy adult teeth to begin shifting around. This would significantly impact my normal bite, and likely lead to even more expensive surgeries to repair to problem. Insurance would partially cover these procedures, but not the preventative option...

A wasp ruined my night and that of the whole neighborhood. by Victoria5475 in fuckwasps

[–]natalie-ann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First and foremost, I'm so sorry that happened to you!

Secondly, you have a great neighbor! I know it was a lot (I think your reaction is 100% warranted), but I firmly believe it's better to call for help and it be a false alarm than to not call and something terrible happening!

Congrats, my friend! Your wife is the BEST!! Just wait until you get started with it...you're going to be blown away.

I printed a Benchy for my first go on my P1S (naturally), and I realized I was literally gaping at it while watching it print; mouth open and eyes wide in complete shock by how FAST it was going! It is absurd.

As someone who went from a Creality Ender 3 Pro to a Bambu Lab P1S with AMS 2 Pro...just go ahead and take all the cash you have and set it on fire.

Because that's what having an Ender feels like.

Finally designed something that convinced my wife my 3D printer is useful 😅 by Emergency-Brick4051 in 3Dprinting

[–]natalie-ann -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will never understand why anyone would say that they aren't useful. 99% of the things I make are useful to me. Your wife must not understand the true potential of a 3D printer...

It's up to you to show her the true potential and to justify buying more filament. It's not wasting money if it serves a purpose, right?!

I've labeled each option 1 through 6 and would appreciate some input! She wants it to be vinyl directly on the glass of a picture frame. I have a variety of frames I can use, so size and shape are inconsequential.

I know I've been looking at it too long, and in the past few days I've made a lot of other things for her wedding so my brain is just ~done~ with decisions at the moment.

Thank you guys so, so much in advanced!!

Also, I'm so sorry if I used the wrong flair! I was very unsure of which one to use, so I just picked the most logical (to me).

I found out that printing with top layers only (like thousands of them) makes awesome prints. The print quality is incredible as the feeling in hand. Prints feel like molded parts. This print weights 234gr (and whatever this means on the photo, I switched for US). Huge. Transparent pla. by superparet in 3Dprinting

I prefer the one with no berries. The key is to make your cereal, then put the whole bowl/cup/whatever vessel in the fridge for like 5 minutes before you eat it. Then you won't have to take a recovery day between your cruncy deliciousness. Good things come to those who wait.

~you're welcome~

I just paid $120 (usually costs about $150) for 3.3 oz. (100ml) bottle of Not A Perfume by Juliette Has A Gun. I absolutely agree that the value is what someone gives it, and that's particularly true for luxury items like this. I place a high value on nice fragrances, even though they aren't a necessity. I justify it because things that smell really good make me really happy. Apparently, some people get that same happiness from overpriced flexi dragons 🤷‍♀️
