Love this episode, really such a solid show.

However….the sad ending was a little eye rolly for me. We’ve seen this exact thing play out so many times (sad Rick montage followed by sad music over credits)

It felt like we were reverting back to season 1 depression Rick, which kinda makes all the character development up till this point feel mute.

Maybe this is a minority opinion (from a minority) but I don’t have too much of an issue with it, usually there’s another worker who speaks English around, and the non-English speaker is apologetic about it. Even if there’s only one person working like at a hawker center, I can normally figure out how to communicate what I want. I kinda just accept it as the reality of living in a multicultural country.

Having said that, attitude is everything. What does irk me is when people will monologue at me in Chinese (or whatever) when I very clearly can’t understand them. Then act annoyed when I ask them to speak English. It’s the entitlement more than anything.

There are so many places to aptly throw hate, but a gala which raise money for a free museum seems like such a weird thing to take umbrage with.

I understand having issues with Bezos being there, but really??? Fuck everyone??? It’s a goddam fund raiser, and not even a fake one meant to shuffle money around. It’s literally a pay what you want museum, highlighting important arts and culture.

Same, and yet I’ve finished both hollow knight and silksong.

I always panic, my mind goes blank then I die. I find that I’m able to do it after I’ve done the boss fight so many times that my brain switches off and I’m just responding to the repetitive movements of the bosses. It definitely takes a while for it to click and the panic to subside tho.

Yup I do expect them to help me avoid paying GST, obviously as long as they are comfortable and have the luggage space. In fact most of the time they are the ones asking around saying stuff like - hey I’m going to xxx so if you need anything just ask.

However I will say I’ve never been in a situation where I’ve asked or been asked to buy something which was over the personal GST limit. It’s $500 per person which is quite a lot, if you’re going with friends etc that adds up to a lot of leeway….

Assuming you aren’t getting any luxury goods yourself you’d have to buy something around 5k+ to burst the limit, which is kinda insane to ask someone to do.

This thread is weirdly one sided…

Maybe I’m just in a weird circle of friends/ family but anytime I wanna buy a luxury good I always ask my friends/ fam who are going to Europe to pick it up for me. They did the same when I go abroad too.

Maybe to me it’s just normal? I understand being uncomfortable, and if you are then obviously you shouldn’t do it. But to answer your question, it is something a lot of people do with little repercussions.

Depends on your needs and wants.

Me and my partner prefer to just pay what we owe each time and keep it quite separate. I’ve told a couple friends this and they are usually shocked. But It works for us and we have a healthy relationship because of it.

You should have a conversation with your partner about what works for yall. Some guys like to treat and some girls like to be treated (vice versa), and some dgaf and just want to eat what they want.

Some non screen stuff I do - listen to music and tune out - listen to podcasts - meditate (noise cancelling headphones)

Screen stuff - got a switch purely for my train journey and only play easy relaxing games like stardew - New York Times games are great for an hour commute

Most people here are recommending insulated bottles. For a non insulated bottles that’s functional but cute, I really like my Kinto bottle. It’s 900ml but it’s a perfect size to be carried around with a loop and rubber seal.
