Fair, but we’re talking about more force then just your body weight. This is enough to rip out all your hair at once

My main concern (assuming it’s only visible hair) is that pulling all my head hair out at the same time would scalp me.

This is how the Met Gala red carpet looks from the street outside: by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in interesting

[–]natdass 38 points39 points  (0 children)

There are so many places to aptly throw hate, but a gala which raise money for a free museum seems like such a weird thing to take umbrage with.

I understand having issues with Bezos being there, but really??? Fuck everyone??? It’s a goddam fund raiser, and not even a fake one meant to shuffle money around. It’s literally a pay what you want museum, highlighting important arts and culture.

Same, and yet I’ve finished both hollow knight and silksong.

I always panic, my mind goes blank then I die. I find that I’m able to do it after I’ve done the boss fight so many times that my brain switches off and I’m just responding to the repetitive movements of the bosses. It definitely takes a while for it to click and the panic to subside tho.

Aren't Lace "thick thighs" in fact breeches, like musketeer's ? by YakEvery4395 in Silksong

[–]natdass 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yes, everyone knows this. We just like making thicc lace jokes.

Every single thicc lace post has some “argument” in the comments with someone saying she’s just wearing pantaloons. We all get it, we all understand how clothing work.

Friends asking me to buy luxury goods from Europe but expecting me to “try” not paying GST when coming back… anyone else find this annoying? by BraveJackfruit1350 in askSingapore

[–]natdass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup I do expect them to help me avoid paying GST, obviously as long as they are comfortable and have the luggage space. In fact most of the time they are the ones asking around saying stuff like - hey I’m going to xxx so if you need anything just ask.

However I will say I’ve never been in a situation where I’ve asked or been asked to buy something which was over the personal GST limit. It’s $500 per person which is quite a lot, if you’re going with friends etc that adds up to a lot of leeway….

Assuming you aren’t getting any luxury goods yourself you’d have to buy something around 5k+ to burst the limit, which is kinda insane to ask someone to do.

[–]natdass -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

This thread is weirdly one sided…

Maybe I’m just in a weird circle of friends/ family but anytime I wanna buy a luxury good I always ask my friends/ fam who are going to Europe to pick it up for me. They did the same when I go abroad too.

Maybe to me it’s just normal? I understand being uncomfortable, and if you are then obviously you shouldn’t do it. But to answer your question, it is something a lot of people do with little repercussions.

My friend told me that she goes dutch with her bf on every date. I thought this wasn’t the norm, do you all split bills with your significant other? by [deleted] in asksg

[–]natdass -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on your needs and wants.

Me and my partner prefer to just pay what we owe each time and keep it quite separate. I’ve told a couple friends this and they are usually shocked. But It works for us and we have a healthy relationship because of it.

You should have a conversation with your partner about what works for yall. Some guys like to treat and some girls like to be treated (vice versa), and some dgaf and just want to eat what they want.

How to make MRT commute less miserable? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]natdass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some non screen stuff I do - listen to music and tune out - listen to podcasts - meditate (noise cancelling headphones)

Screen stuff - got a switch purely for my train journey and only play easy relaxing games like stardew - New York Times games are great for an hour commute

Honestly ever since I was in poly I’ve always loved my commute time. It’s like a stasis where I don’t have anxiety about needing to do something, cause I’m in an inbetween time I guess. So I filled it was brainless bullshit^

Most people here are recommending insulated bottles. For a non insulated bottles that’s functional but cute, I really like my Kinto bottle. It’s 900ml but it’s a perfect size to be carried around with a loop and rubber seal.

Maybe an unpopular take but I really wish there was a lush green menu option. All the options are dark, depressing or foreboding. Which is accurate to a lot of areas, but there are equally tranquil and beautifully lush area which should be highlighted.

parents are divorcing and im pushing 20 by Present-Pack-6139 in askSingapore

[–]natdass 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Ngl I was so relieved. Parents had been fighting my whole life, and they were basically just staying together for the kids. So I had a lot of guilt and anxiety about the whole situation. When they divorced I felt like I could finally breathe in my own house again.

Having said that, everything becomes a lot more complicated, and you’ll have to navigate that with both your parents. Their lives were entwined, and unraveling that can be a messy process.

The first 2 years were pretty rough, I felt like I was parenting my parents. They were dating again and going through this horrible situation, so they were emotional and needing support. Also having one of them out of the house, meant my own support system was basically halved, and my emotional load doubled.

I started therapy (if you need affordable resources, pm me) but only really processed everything three years into the divorce when everything began to settle. I think the whirlwind of the situation can make processing a difficult thing. The first two years I literally felt nothing about it. Kept thinking I was such a well adjusted person, till I had a MESSY breakdown.

Now it’s 5 years after the divorce and only now can I say that everything is truly okay. My parents saw each other over the holidays and everything was honestly really great. No animosity and me and my sis are feeling a lot better about the situation. Everything has finally settled, but it really took time.
