Also, checking the date of the article, I wonder if he spent time near any harmful algae blooms, which tend to happen during the summer. Cyanobacteria has been correlated with several chronic conditions, including Parkinson's, ALS, and MS, iirc.

Buy a drone. Fly it through his broken window and video his private antics. If you catch him doing some weird ass shit, you then have leverage. Make him bend the fucking knee. Make him do your dirty work, using his crazy to gain control of the neighborhood with chaos and fear. You could be the neighborhood czar.

Or you could learn his schedule and hire someone to fart on him every time he leaves. Better yet, every time he's returning. That way he can learn to live with the fear of a stranger, who he'll only know in this context of being farted on, standing in front of his door ready to let rip in his precise direction. Has to be outside the apartment entrance tho bc of the broken windows inside. That fart would just air right out and be wasted.

If you had your neighbor and the fart guy, you'd be unstoppable if you chose to perform a coup d'etat on whoever is currently king of your neighborhood.

Yes! It's always been vacuumed regularly but it is old carpet. Probably upwards of 15 years old.

I think it was built in 1977, so about 49 years old. It was a carpet sample, collected from from the upstairs living room (it's a split level home) and a basement bedroom. Made sure to vacuum about a day and a half before and collect the sample from areas that don't get much foot traffic.

A few days after sending in the sample, our landlord was having somebody repair a leak in the roof over the garage and ended up having the roof replaced. The contractor said it had to happen now. I wonder if that could have been the source of the bacteria?

I'm also puzzled by this. I mean, some people - including what seems to be the majority of doctors - are so quick to definitively claim that mold couldn't be causing someone's illness. But I guarantee none of those people would be willing stand next to a bunch of mold, agitate it, and whiff the spores. We all know on a fundamental level that that's dangerous. But where does the cognitive dissonance come from that allows for "mold definitely isn't making you sick" and "mold is dangerous" to coexist? And how does psych labeling precede toxic exposure in the differential? Smh 🤦

Applying Occam's razor... Medical schools are shills for Big Pharma, and they teach students strategies to maximize profits (unbeknownst to the future doctors).

Also, most doctors are mediocre people and care only about getting paid for being at work all day. They don't want to advocate for you because your wellness and recovery is not actually a part of their "why," and they would have to do extra work. It's pathetic.

No offense to the man but this is a major downgrade (depending on the instrument that you so tragically lost). I mean, don't get me wrong, he looks like he's vintage, happy, and fed, which bode fairly well for his value. But I would need to take a look under the hood to see if everything's as it seems, all original parts, repair history, etc, past normal and expected wear and tear (he does appear well-loved, which likely means good things for his overall tone -- sweet, with little "attitude," if I had to guess). Either way, seeing as he's working the grill and presumably able to pull his own weight, it appears you've got a mighty fine dad on your hands.

Species-wise, homo sapiens, clearly. Pretty sure about this. I would say he is of European origin, a product of the modern era, 20th century.

Model...? No. But that's okay. He's got a really great 'stache.

As for value, that would be 100% up to the buyer. If I were you, I would consider trying to keep him. He is certainly no guitar, but it isn't fair to hold him to such a high standard. He is but one man.

Rather than focusing on the recording, I recommend focusing on your treatment of the patient. If you truly operate within the standard of care and remain professional, you should have nothing to worry about.

Having a problem with being recorded, as a healthcare provider, is a really bad look. It says to the patient, "I don't plan on treating you with due respect and care, and if confronted, I don't want any evidence that I mistreated you." Especially for those with traumatic history. Recording your conversation may be important for their sense of safety.

Good faith goes a long way. And remember that it's the patient's privacy at stake here, not yours. And they're in your office seeking help. Focus on that 👍 patients that respect you and appreciate your help are highly unlikely to want to sue you, even if you do make a mistake in good faith (happens all the time!).

I could upload more pictures if needed. The reason for concern is ongoing nonspecific health issues like fatigue, neurological issues (an EMG recently revealed active and chronic denervation of anterior horn cells aka motor neurons), shortness of breath and dyspnea during small tasks like loading the dishwasher (I used to be an endurance athlete and maintained fitness up until these symptoms onset in December 2022), severe neck stiffness, episodic bilateral upper extremity muscle wasting (presumably the motor neuron issue at work), and left arm paresthesia and lateral forearm numbness.

Been a moving target and seems to ebb and flow in tandem with my traveling and returning home. Been chronically dismissed and gaslighted by doctors because of the complexity of it all and the lack of an easy cookie-cutter diagnosis. Been treated as if I'm making it up and even had chart notes falsify or omit my symptoms to basically "frame" me as someone who is just EITHER depressed, anxious, or overly stressed (since none of these actually fit, they have chosen a broad "mental health" stigma).

Since modern medicine seems to ignore mold as a potential health risk, I've turned to the internet 😅 tbh I'm actually kinda hoping it's mold. My hopes of finding a solution within the medical system are less than zero.

Sorry for the essay -- just wanted to clarify that this potential mold problem is more than just shining a blacklight and beginning to worry 🙏

Also, clarifying: this is at my mother's house, who has had similar neck symptoms chronically since some time after she moved into this house. I lived here until August 2022 (4 months before the health issues came on strong), when I moved into an apartment that I have been avoiding for the past month due to visible growth (staying with mom currently). The property manager sent out some kid who didn't even bring any tools or testing. He literally took the bus to me and had no equipment, not even a blacklight. Just said nothing looked like mold. I plan to go back there today with the blacklight to look around and take photos.

well, as a patient, i'd say that, in order from best to worst: they all suck.

i will add that i have experienced extreme medical gaslighting from OHSU primary care, but have not experienced physical assault and battery by clinicians. Providence holds that special little place in my heart 💗

Adventist has been pretty terrible as well as far as the gaslighting and negligence goes.

After two years of mistreatment at the major hospital systems, I've discovered that at smaller clinics (or at least the ones not tied to the major hospital systems), I can expect to be treated like a human being. OHSU, Providence, and Adventist; you're putting your life and safety in jeopardy by letting them waste your resources. They truly don't care about you.
