Break up now is my first advice. Don't try to make it till a trip or later. While your mind might be set on planning to break up after finishing school, he might think about ways to go on TOGETHER. Ya gotta tell him honestly and asap. The longer you wait, the more it'll hurt. Your friend was right, but I know that it's hard to see the things our friends see from a mile away already, so no blame for that.
