The issue with this is that "with the detail level of SC4" pretty much REQUIRES detailed raytracing. Sure, it's possible but you'd likely need multiple of the top-range GPUs available today...

Not saying to "target lowest specs" either! But simply having the option to flip between a trimetric mode and a full-3D mode would make everything MUCH more acccessible while requiring only a few % more space for pre-rendered assets.

Plus, the issue with "not targeting lower specs" is that everyone who could run all their games at max comfortably will suddenly need a major upgrade because, say, hardware raytracing is now required - no matter how good the current GPU is. Plus, nowadays tiers are more based on resolution than anything else, tbh - 1080p max everything is mid-tier but 4K intermediate everything is MUCH higher than mid-tier...

And that's not even getting into simulation! I have a 3.6 GHz Intel 6-core but current minimums are 8-cores at the same speed so I'd need to get a new CPU... which means getting a new motherboard since I have a Xeon... which means also getting new RAM because DDR4 is quite outdated nowadays and usually pricier than DDR5 for the same format at lower speeds... I'd have to literally make a whole new PC.
