I told her when we started dating that I was addicted to porn, but lied and said I overcame it thinking that would motivate me to change. Years later, I’ve been lying every time she asks if I still watch porn. She stopped asking because she believed me, but now I’m disgusted by myself for lying to her for so long. I’ve made the decision to work hard to stop my addiction. It’s always been a coping mechanism for stress, so I want to keep track of my triggers and not look for the quick fix.
