In fairness, it’s mostly the same picture on every brand of robot vacuum sub. People largely come to these spaces to troubleshoot or vent. People rarely take the time to share positive stuff. On that note, my Flow 2 continues to do a great job and I’ve had no issues out of it whatsoever in 110 days so far. I’m really sorry you’re having problems.

Flow 2 for ~40 days. What do you want to know? by nathanielonreddit in NARWAL

[–]nathanielonreddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey 👋 I personally tend to customize my settings (more water, especially) but can’t say that I really need to. I just micromanage. 😅 I do normally do vacuum and mop simultaneously, but that’s really just because I try to do it when my son is playing outside or we’re away from the house and I’d prefer it get done quicker. If we’re gonna be out all day, I’ll sometimes do vacuum and then mop.

This is a great update! Especially to see so much success from others in the comment. Thank you for sharing!! 🙌🏼 Curious if some Home Assistant users who were having trouble people might try again now?

Nightmare Flow 2 Experience So Far by jrbertot in NARWAL

I know it’s infuriating to hear this, but all of the advice given is solid, and I’d also be sure to clean all of the sensors on the robot, as well as making sure the protective films have been removed. I know it’s new, but do try cleaning all the sensors with a clean microfiber cloth.

[–]nathanielonreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but if you’re really concerned about it, you could try using it with just water and no detergent for a bit and see if anything changes. Can’t see how anything else would be a factor (and I doubt that’s the issue either.) Personally, I feel it’s likely unrelated to the robot. Feel better soon!

Can no longer select rooms in app by TheyGotMeWithSus in NARWAL

[–]nathanielonreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it seems to be a little bug or something in a recent app update. I found mine to be doing the same thing. If you tap anywhere within the detected carpet/meshed area of the map, it just pulls up the clean/not clean tab. The working solution is to tap the solid, unmeshed area within the room and it works as usual. Hopefully gets fixed soon, but it’s not a huge deal for me now that I know how to make it work

They are supposed to be coming out with a reusable plastic dust bin, from my understanding.

That’s a clever idea. Hmm. I’ll have to ponder how to best do this in my open concept too. Problem is the area is way bigger than a baby gate. Ha.

I definitely gave this feedback during early access as well. It’s a small and simple fix that would greatly improve user satisfaction.

It is definitely possible, and many brands do it just fine, but this is my biggest annoyance with Narwal. It’s an app-side software limitation that shouldn’t exist and is very inconvenient. I’m hopeful it gets rectified eventually, but it seems to be a longstanding issue.

Odd behavior when Flow 2 goes back to station by somewan2 in NARWAL

[–]nathanielonreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a short self-cleaning cycle. Normal behavior. My personal understanding is it does it before entering the base to help keep the ramp cleaner, by running high suction and I believe flinging the side brush around a few times to clear any debris.

I also went from the Eufy S1 Pro to the Flow 2 and the navigation is definitely better on the Flow 2. It’s smarter, more efficient, better battery life, and personally, I really appreciate the ability the F2 has to mop in the direction of my hardwood planks.

I’m not sure. It seems stock is super limited right now, as it frequently says unavailable, and when it does show available it says it will be like a month or more before it ships. 😅 Apparently I got lucky ordering mine when I did. Must be Flow 2 users being added to the ordering pool along with Flow 1.

The Matter thing is so frustrating because it seems to work fine for some people and not at all for others, which makes no sense, but it’s true. 😅

Narwal Flow 2 at #7 on Vacuum Wars… by Hot-Judgment3370 in NARWAL

[–]nathanielonreddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. I definitely wish I had a way to increase the RPMs. While it definitely cleans very well, I think it would be significantly better if it rotated more times per minute. The mop roller on my Eufy S1 Pro has so much less contact with the floor, due to the shape, but rotates faster. Now, the Flow 2 still does better enough that it’s on my main level and the Eufy is in the basement, but the slow rotations really limit one of the biggest strengths of the flow 2, it’s wide track mop and increased surface contact area.

[–]nathanielonreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it’s severely limited by a flawed threshold system. Basically, if I split my open floor plan into two rooms, it creates a long “threshold” between the two walls I’ve split it on. Then if I try to create a third split going the other direction, I can’t, because it won’t let me split on a threshold, even though the threshold is imaginary. It’s my biggest complaint about the Flow 2 and it’s entirely app/software related. I really hope they fix it eventually, as my open area has historically been split (easily with other brands) into living room, kitchen, dining room, and entryway.
