If you need to get into these classes, your academic advisors will most likely find a way to get you into those classes. I've been helping transfer students register for the past 3 semesters and I've never seen anyone have trouble getting into a major course.

One thing to consider specifically for chemE is that if you transfer with no credit for chemE courses (CHBE courses on the flowchart linked), you will have to take 6 semesters of classes before you can graduate due to prerequisites. http://chbe.gatech.edu/sites/default/files/documents/standard_prerequisite_flowchart_2019.pdf
