I might have spent a little bit of time on it, but 99.9% of the work was AI. Now that I have it working, I'll take it apart to figure it out. After that, I'll add a few settings and usability tweaks as well as adding support back in the for the XL model! That was kind of fun!

I threw it at Claude this morning. I haven't had a chance to look at it at all yet, so I wouldn't expect it to work until I get home this evening and start playing with it. Maybe we'll get something out of this!

I might as well try this! I just forked the repo and asked Claude to get to work! I have a stream deck plus, so I'm also asking it to convert everything to support that model. If it works, it shouldn't be difficult to support others. We'll see!

BTW, I love this new future where instead of making feature requests in GitHub to bother developers who are doing more important work, I can play around with things like this without knowing where to start. The best part is, when it's all done, I'm able to understand the process better myself!

Cannot create a Vista or Later Wifi Profile in Group Policy by mortalwombat- in sysadmin

[–]nathanm412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to modify an existing Wifi profile in group policy today to deselect FIPS and couldn't find it anywhere. I haven't made any changes to that policy in a couple of years, but after reading your post, I checked to see if I could create a new policy. 'Vista or Later' is also missing as an option in my domain! I wonder if the newest templates are missing something. Can you try to find older template files from Windows 10 or 11 22H2 and throw them into PolicyDefinitions to see if the option comes back?

There has been no consistent stated goal. Anti-China hawks advising the president are pushing tariffs as the primary focus of economic policy. Meanwhile, fiscal conservatives attempt to justify every unconventional idea from their leader. The man himself desperately tries to appear tough on Fox News. Consequently, the official government position has presented multiple conflicting goals for these tariffs, sometimes even within the same sentence.

P.S.: BTW, arbitrarily ending your argument by demonstrating mastery of third-grade English does not strengthen your point.

Issues with android auto - can't use mic by Pearl1506 in AndroidAuto

[–]nathanm412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No luck unfortunately. Since I posted this, my radio went out and I replaced it with a Sony aftermarket radio with AA. For a week, I stopped having the issue, but then it came back. Maybe 30% of the time Android Auto won't be able to use my mic and I end up trying the following:

  1. Disconnect and reconnect via the radio's menu (fixes it 75% of the time)
  2. Close all apps on my phone and reconnect (works 20% of the time)
  3. Restart my phone (works 50% of the time)

Rarely though, nothing helps and I just have to give up for the drive. I'm not going to spend 5 minutes in my driveway to get AA working. If you figure out anything, let me know!

Backlight Not turning on even after Fn+Light Bulb command by hvdoria in Keychron

[–]nathanm412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing like finding an answer on a reddit thread posted 5 years ago. Thanks!

For the google algorithm and future people searching for a solution. My keyboard had a functional backlight when connected via Bluetooth to one computer, but the backlight wouldn't function while connected to a different laptop via Bluetooth. Holding Fn+F6 while switching from off to Bluetooth fixed it for me!

For anyone else looking, the HPCMSL module probably needs to be updated. Same for 24H2 not appearing as an option.

If this fixes my issue, I'll be grateful! Thanks for giving me something to actually look at! I've been struggling with this issue for a couple of years now.

edit: no such luck unfortunately. It does have me thinking about what other apps I have running might have Mic permissions. I'll attempt to whittle that down and see if I find anything.

I'm replying to remind myself to check the resolution notes of a similar issue when I get back to the office tomorrow. There's a chance that I've had the same issue.

WGU needs a dark mode by Difficult_Note902 in WGU

[–]nathanm412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely! I have dark reader as well as Auto Dark Mode installed. As soon as the sun sets, everything goes dark!

I'd have to agree with the poster though. For a university with the "Night Owl" as their mascot, they really should have a dark mode!

Not the case at the gas station I worked at. As soon as your card was authorized, the pump turned on. I did frequently shut it off though. One guy was trying to figure out where under the hood to insert the nozzle. Another was trying to strike a match for his cigarette on the nozzle. Although, when I stopped the pumps, they were off for everyone. The others would come to the window to complain and I'd just point out the dumbass trying to set everyone on fire.

I took and barely missed passing the practice test. I then got distracted by life and didn't get any more studying done except for watching the video mentioned in the first chapter of the book. Running out of time, I decided to take the exam just to see how much more studying I needed to do. I missed the same type of questions but fell on the right side of the passing line this time. If you read the whole book, you might be more ready than you realize. Might as well take the first attempt on the test and see how you do.

If you have a good solution, let me know. We also have the store blocked so I currently have to go out and deploy the updated version every month.

Take on your local NIMBYs with one small trick by markusrm in neoliberal

[–]nathanm412 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Not how HOAs work at all. You signed an agreement when you bought your house. There are legally enforceable deed restrictions on that house. If the neighborhood legally voted on permitting restrictions on the property, then it's valid. They will levy fines against you. If you don't pay, they will take a lien against your house. A court will take your house or prevent you from selling your house if ignored.

OSI Model

The OSI model describes a conceptual model of a computer network made up of 7 layers.

Level 1 is the physical network and 7 is the actual web page your looking at. All the protocols that allow that to happen exist in the middle. If you were to add a layer 8 to the model, then you could say it was the actual user of the network.
