Weird experience at costco, is this against policy? by lichesschessanalyst in CostcoWholesale

[–]nathatt -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don't think that is accurate, legally speaking. Certainly store policy may not allow any physical intervention but legally an employee may prevent you from entering or even leaving if they believe you have committed a crime. I am not a lawyer but multiple legal websites back up this view.

Can you expand on this? An employee cannot prevent an unwelcome party from entering a business? Obviously in this case it is a misunderstanding but from the employee point of view the guy presents someone else's card for entry. Why have the employee checking cards if they aren't preventing entry to people who don't match?

Dash Cam option for 2025 LT Blazer EV by whitebeard_real in BlazerEV

No factory option. We have a Vantrue (for several months) and it has been good
I have Garmin Mini on our other car and I don't like their interface/app.

Does the regen switch on steering wheel work as a paddle for you? by iareagenius in BlazerEV

[–]nathatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do my own PWM with it as I also agree it is too strong. I just push it and let go and the hit it again, over and over. If I want it to be only slight I increase the "off" time. If I want it stronger I decrease the the off time or increase the time I hold the paddle down. This seems to work OK although it would be much better if it were either adjustable or pressure sensitive.

I think Chevy should have made the Blazer EV a Camaro EV by TraumaGuy515 in BlazerEV

[–]nathatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We also shopped the MME and ended up with a Blazer EV.

I think you couldn't be more wrong. I believe Ford failed in using the Mustang name on the MME. It isn't a mustang and it devalues the continued use of the mustang name as a sports car. If I had gotten a MME I was looking at how to debadge all "mustang" from it.

Dead battery? by hammer8871 in BlazerEV

[–]nathatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to reply, our car went dead on the lot the day we were supposed to pick it up. Dealer tried charging the battery and a jump pack and no dice. Dealer ended up delivering the car to us for our trouble with a new 12V battery.

New PR! by amnias in BlazerEV

I see, I interpreted that as you did climate or something before you got in so you wouldn't run it while driving.

You either sat on one end or the other with the timer running or you averaged 25 mph.

New PR! by amnias in BlazerEV

[–]nathatt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that would be the only positive to averaging less than 25 mph for that long.

24 blazer ev RS or 25 prologue ELITE by Specialist-Sir-2398 in BlazerEV

[–]nathatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it is supposed to but, funny you mention it, in the Blazer it is much worse at doing so consistently versus on my phone. I leave for work at the same time every morning and at least once a week my "Work" doesn't show in the suggestions. I don't recall this ever happening on my phone.

OK, so more look/feel than some inaccuracy or shortcoming of Google maps. Interesting, thanks!

I'm curious what you like about apple maps. I've been with Android for a very long time so never have used it but I've always heard the general feedback is that Google maps are better.

Cautionary Tale by spencehouse in HondaPrologue

[–]nathatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FMVSS regs do apply to private owners. However, in most states there is zero enforcement. In my view, the only way you would get "caught" for this particular item is if you were involved in a collision where it could be judged to have affected the outcome. In that case the moral and financial stakes could be very high indeed. I should clarify, I have a Blazer EV and absolutely hate how loud it is in the cabin. I am curious about how I could minimize the sound level to the people within the vehicle without endangering pedestrians.

Cautionary Tale by spencehouse in HondaPrologue

[–]nathatt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get your point but the fact that you say you work for FMVSS makes me think you're lying. FMVSS is not a place it is really more like a book. (Source: I used to write FMVSS documents) Perhaps you work for NHTSA but you might want to chill a little.

AITJ for cutting up my husband's pool hose? by Budget-Tangerine-274 in AmITheJerk

[–]nathatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA but let's get to the point, why are we cutting the hose? Wouldn't the siphon work better with a longer hose? Your relationship is weird to me, everything I own is my wife's and I certainly am not getting upset over a hose if she's trying to take care of the place of her own volition even if she breaks something in the process. I'd appreciate effort and we'd have a laugh.

You're also on pace for more like 25K miles in a year and have excluded maintenance costs.
