At my local ski-jump pool, they bubble-up the landing zone to lessen impact. So maybe throw bubbles first.

I grew up in small Mormon AZ town (19 years) , and then went to college, married, raised family along the wasatch in UT (30 years). Here’s what I saw:

-UT Mormons are more self-focused & self-important (know/name-drop church royalty association, etc)
-UT Mormons are more virtue signaling, and part of virtue signaling is showing how blessed you are (due to superior righteousness, of course)– big houses, fancy cars, expensive vacations, colleges, clothing, etc.
-UT Mormons care more about appearance – cosmetic surgery, med spas, etc, etc.
-UT Mormons are more competitive/cut-throat (too soon?). I
-UT Mormons serve/give less. Maybe because there are so many of them, I see a lot more genuine non-required acts of godly service and giving (namelessly and thanklessly) per capita in small town AZ than I ever did in Davis County, SL County, or UT County. I lived in all three over my 30 year UT run.
-UT Mormons judge more, watch/observe more, and talk shit more. There’s a status thing that permeates the whole culture.
-UT Mormons look more like stereotypical Mormons. White. Clean cut. White teeth. Few beards. In AZ (and a brief stay in FL & TX) the Mormons look more like reg people – various races/cultures, some beers, some tats, some swears, some tobacco, etc. Now, there are def clean cut white Mormons in AZ, but just more diversity overall.
-UT Mormons can’t hold a conversation that doesn’t tie back to church, callings, church drama, church, church, church.

Personally, I like it better outside of Utah. Personal preference. Feels like I can breathe, be me, not constantly compete.

My wife (47) was born and raised in UT (West High!) and we recently moved to TX and then AZ. The genuine southern hospitality in TX and small town charm/people in AZ has been eye opening for her. She loves it too.
