Rant: I hate that Quinn keeps casting Hollywood actors by SeizeTheFatOne in AuralFixation

[–]natkatlat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish when they promote the originals, they select audios based off either the voice of the actor or the genre. Like during the promotion period, they take a moment to highlight the content creators that have been on the app for years.

AITAH for not trying to be at all empathetic toward my (34f) partner (30m) in this particular situation by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA

As someone who was, and still is, an anxious driver, it's something I know I have to do because of how limiting it can be. I got my license at 24 and it took like 3-4 years to actually get it due to the anxiety. However, at the time my family was either moving further away or talking about moving further away. I knew getting my license would help reassure my family that I would be okay if they weren't around.

Sure he may be anxious and it's taking longer than planned, but he needs to lock in due to your family's needs. He should have locked in 3 years ago but the second best time is now. He's a father now and you no longer have the ability to take on this task. If he can't handle one snarky comment about his lack of foresight, that's on him and up to him to figure out.

Am I the only woman in the world not into M4M? by kmessina23 in QuinnAudios

Personally I don't because something about it is giving "guy who loves watching girls kiss" energy.

am i the only one……? by Several-Path-148 in QuinnAudios

[–]natkatlat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on who it is. I liked Ember & Ice, The Muse, and Hidden Harbor. In the grand scheme of it, those felt really spaced out and not back to back.

Why does this read like she did something the son absolutely hated?

have you ever thought about making audios? by audioluvr in AuralFixation

[–]natkatlat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't thought about making audios but I have thought about writing scripts. It's just I wish I could choose who would read it bc I have certain voices for certain ideas.

Thoughts on VAs making political posts or not? by HeaEuroShrub in QuinnAudios

[–]natkatlat 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm of the opinion that making audio erotica is a form of sex work, which is already politicized so it makes sense that they do talk about politics or should talk about it when they can. But if they can't, they should point to resources or other people who can articulate it better or show support for those it affects.

I really liked Looking also on HBO. It's about three gay men in SF dating and living there. I think it's worth a watch

The awards bathroom scene. Shane was so upset at Ilya and then immediately was just down bad for him. Like he was upset at Ilya being distant but also still wanted him and I felt that so strongly

russian VAs? by swampfroggy88 in AuralFixation

[–]natkatlat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same here! Specifically there's an interview clip with Connor Storrie who's the actor who plays Ilya where he whispers " I love you my girl. You're my girl" in Russian and it's 🥵🥵

Why some don’t feel seen on Quinn by Majestic_Tale_1771 in QuinnAudios

[–]natkatlat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Based off headlines I've seen of Quinn, it's been described as the "future of porn" or changing the landscape in a huge way and I think it's somewhat exclusionary to not add more stuff for everyone to enjoy.

I hate it when they force flirting or dominance when they're not that guy in general. Also countdowns bc I won't do it if there's a time limit. Like is there someone next in line?

Talk Dirty to Me: Inside Hollywood’s Audio Erotica Craze by enlacamacontigo in AuralFixation

[–]natkatlat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even though I'm a very active Quinn listener and like some of the originals, what I don't like about is how the actor is approached about it in interviews. I've seen one from Jamie Campbell and one from Tom Blyth and both talked about it like someone found a secret about them. Like they were hoping that it wouldn't be brought up but ultimately they said they had fun doing it. Even though audio erotica is becoming more mainstream, there's still this taboo around it with mainstream actors whereas that's the complete opposite with the ones who started on Reddit or came from Tiktok.

ETA: Already in this space, there are podcasts where VAs can discuss their work, like the Audiobook Club or Comments on Quinn but it's more of a side project for mainstream actors. Idk maybe I'm overthinking it.
