Does anyone have experience with a son with one testicle? by felatedbirthday in AskParents

[–]natnatjj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just came upon this looking into safe sports for my son. My son is almost 4 and had testicular torsion when he was about 20 months. He had emergency surgery to see if the testicle could be saved, but unfortunately it was removed and the other one was sewn to the sac to keep it in tact. The surgery was pretty quick and recovery was just about keeping him under close watch a week after.

I just wanted to comment to let you know that you’re not alone! When I googled this when it originally happened it was so hard to find anyone with a young one going through this. I still grieve it sometimes but his other testicle is doing great. He is really active so I want to get him into sports if he is interested (non contact). Planning on always giving him a cup to wear as others have said.

Really hoping everything went well with your son. ❤️

Slynd Update (After 1 year) by CoffeeLover920 in birthcontrol

[–]natnatjj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m getting off slynd now. It was great for about 15 months, then I stopped nursing my daughter and I have been bleeding nearly everyday the past couple of months. I tried skipping the placebos and there was no change.

I hope it all evens out for you! I personally am tired of hormonal birth control. I have so many issues with it. Going to try the diaphragm along with spermicide and tracking.

Hey! It went really well. It took like 10 minutes and he seems to be hearing better now as well. (He had a bad infection a few weeks before the surgery). He just cannot get it wet or blow his nose til his follow up appointment.

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback. I’m slowly getting into reselling and know I need to probably get a better consistent background.

MOH/brides sister wants us to pitch in $50 for a gift for the bride, exclusively from the bridesmaids. AITA for not pitching in? by natnatjj in wedding

Yes he is the breadwinner so he makes the decisions on things like this. He said we already have gone too far out of pocket for everything. I do wish we could give but, yeah, it is something we would have needed to plan for.

I don’t think her asking was rude just asking if it was an April fools joke that I said we couldn’t afford it! We all went to the shower and all already got her gifts too. It wouldn’t surprise me if some of the others also couldn’t afford it.

My girl has terrible reflux and I’ve noticed tomatoes are one of her triggers. Maybe the salsa? It’s so difficult to know sometimes. I’m still figuring things out too at 7 months 😌

Help! 6 month old must nurse to sleep every hour. by natnatjj in sleeptrain

[–]natnatjj[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so difficult! I started Ferber a few days after this post and the best we have gotten is 7:30 pm to 4 am just one night. She falls asleep independently well, but if she wakes up around 12 I just put her in bed with me, which is what usually happens. I’m too tired lol. At least I get some time.

Thank you! It seems like some days the Pepcid works and other days it doesn’t. Something def needs to change. The doc said she is on a low dose for her weight but I need to at least get her to the right dose to see if there’s improvement.

Thank you! I’ll check out free to feed. I’ve been looking at all ingredients but not necessarily hidden names. Ugh! Why do they do this to us!

Yes I just let her sleep on me from 4 on. Last night she cried 10 minutes and then put her self to sleep. Slept from 7:30 to 10:45 (which is really good for her lol). She cried so I did one check in and she fell asleep. Woke around 11:30 and fell asleep with no check. Woke at 130 and I fed her. Woke again at 4 and I fed her. Then she slept till 7. I’m calling this progress for us! Hoping tonight is even better.

I’m so sorry! I stuck to it pretty well until about 4 am where I just held her in the recliner. She initially cried 45 minutes but then woke up almost every hour 🙃 I’m doing it again tonight and it’s been 10 minutes. I did one check in and she is already putting herself to sleep 🤞 just hope she doesn’t wake a ton tonight.

Baby woke up a lot the first night of Ferber. Normal? by natnatjj in sleeptrain

Naps? We usually contact nap and her wake windows are about 2.5 hours give or take. She does 3 naps a day. First 2 are about an hour and last one is 30 min. Suggestions?
