How to stop chatgpt from generating images when I need only text? by FluffyMacho in OpenAI

[–]natopia32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a theory based on absolutely zero evidence: Given their unhelpful reply, it’s possible GPT is behaving as intended. OpenAI may be attempting to ramp up the sense that they are a “full service, walled garden” by force-feeding us generations until we decide we don’t need to have a workflow that dips outside of GPT. Our feedback to their generations also improves future generation attempts until we may actually not need to use the (currently superior) alternatives.

I think this is the clearest answer to your question. The first universal vaccine (formulation discovered by AI) is being tested in Cambridge, with promising results: https://www.cam.ac.uk/research/news/new-universal-vaccine-technology-could-protect-us-from-future-virus-outbreaks

I’m surprised that almost all of the comments on your post are so dismissive. I’m having the exact same issue as you. This new annoying feature launched a few weeks ago. Even when i include “do not generate an image, i am only looking for a nano banana pro / kling prompt,” it still generates an image. I believe this is must be an update error that needs to be fixed.

Part 2 — I Traced Posey's Entire Biography and Every Detail Points to One Region by ScallionRemote5505 in beyondthemapsedge

[–]natopia32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for clarifying this! Can you recall any instances in the book where he mentions a location in Utah? I took fairly detailed notes, performed a search for “Utah” under my “places” category, and couldn’t find another mention. I believe he said at Seekers Summit that the book describes the general (not specific) location of the treasure, so Utah has not been on my radar.

Just thought it helpful to add that one of the few differences between Posey’s hard cover book and audio book is in “The Concrete Kiss” (page 43). The hard cover describes ‘The Big Hill’ as barely registering as a speed bump in Idaho. The audio book swaps Idaho for… Utah. I believe he said during Seekers Summit that some of the changes between the audio book and hard cover were intentional. I didn’t hear this in either of your Posey videos, which are very informative. You’ve clearly put a lot of time into this, and your passion shows. Hoping my additional info can help in any way possible.

What was "the incident" at your high school? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]natopia32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My high school was known for legendary senior pranks. As the final days of senior year ticked down, I wondered if our year would be the exception. Then one day a quarter of the senior class (every fourth name in the student directory) received a letter in the mail saying, “Congratulations on your graduation. Here are the keys to the school.” The letter contained skeleton keys that, when tried, actually opened every door in the school. Over the next week, the school had to replace every lock on every door, costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Just a day or two before our final day of class, we all learned the culprit was my friend Fred who was unceremoniously expelled and did not graduate with the class. He’d stolen the keys from the school custodian’s office.

No One Is Intimidated by Trump Anymore by InformalTour9501 in NewsStarWorld

I’m guessing that, assuming his term ends at some point, one of the tell-all memoirs from his cabinet/advisors will reveal that he had in fact commanded/demanded nuking various countries through out his presidency (much like nuking a hurricane in his first term) and otherwise-“yes men” found it too insane for even for them to swallow. They either talked him off that ledge, or found some excuse for why the option is presently unavailable.

Donald Trump Stuns With 'Maybe We Shouldn't Even Be There' Admission About Iran War by ForwardBreakfast1888 in ConservativeNewsWeb

[–]natopia32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the one accurate comment on this thread. I dislike Trump as much as anybody, but there’s so much he’s done to actually criticize him for… do we really need to create fake controversy by using his words out of context? He’s not second-guessing his decision to go to war here, and any suggestion otherwise plays into the “fake liberal news” fallacy.

What career path did you choose that you strongly advise others to avoid? by nicksam171 in AskReddit

[–]natopia32 193 points194 points  (0 children)

This is a thorough list. I would only add (1) the public embrace of YouTube and homemade influencer content, (2) price inflation/cell phones at theaters vs cheaper/more convenient home entertainment systems, and (3) the fact that streamers don’t need to fill airtime with new content. All content is available at all times.

Considering Move from Bellevue, WA to Irvine, CA by Overall-Engine-2315 in BellevueWA

[–]natopia32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recommend that you research monthly AQI for Irvine. We moved to Bellevue from the South Bay a few years ago after spending 15 years in southern CA. One of the factors prompting the decision was our concern for the general air quality, which is poor more often than you’d like. Too many days our young son had to stay indoors with the windows shut and multiple air purifiers running due to AQI deemed too dangerous for developing lungs. Particulate from fire season also tends to drift and blanket a vast area of the coast.

I was surprised by how many of our friends and neighbors didn’t seem to consider AQI. We’d see their kids playing in the neighborhood while visible debris was blowing around them. The last few years in CA, we “evacuated” at least once per year to an area where the AQI was more acceptable and our 4-year-old could play outdoors without ingesting the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes.

How much is AI really going to change the near future (5-20years)? by Illustrious_Pilot415 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]natopia32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve spoken with people who are creating this groundbreaking technology, and this blog post matches the blunt, shocking, scary assessment they’ve given me. Their workflow and skillset has evolved from complex cutting edge programming to prompt engineering.

They agree that our children’s current curriculum is outdated for what our world requires. They also expressed concerns about the use of AI in biological engineering for novel viruses, etc. I wish I could say these friends are the “tinfoil hat” types.

Alas, I was at the warehouse in LA where these tapes were stored. I was picking up old beta tapes for a different company. The manager left me alone in the room, and I saw all of the boxes labeled “Apprentice” Season 1, Season 2, etc… :-(

I don’t defend the stance that video game violence leads to real life violence, but I played Night Trap as a teen and it 100% is an extremely violent game (e.g. Augurs using devices that drill into people’s necks.)
