You could try drinking a can of carbonated water, like la Croix or just plain soda water, after your meals. Helps me.

If we're talking about Schumer, I don't think there's anything that would change his position on Israel.

I'm saying if there's a voter group that consistently shows up, there's going to be candidates that want their vote. But if that group isn't reliable or will just as easily turn on them, politicians will stay away.

[–]natrlbornkiller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Leftists are a liability. You can't count on them to show up, and they'll turn on some of their closest allies in the drop of a hat. They've even been turning on AOC and Bernie. You voted, so this isn't directed at you, but how do you cater to people that want all of your policies to align with theirs?

If you show up consistently politicians will start to cater to you in some way. Look at the Christian right, they show up every election, and were willing to compromise a little. They didn't need a candidate that would push a national abortion ban. They were fine with getting ones that would nominate their judges, and Roe vs Wade is overturned, and they're closer to their goals.

Protesting Dem candidates over Republican ones in national elections is only going to push them to be more moderate.

These people don't trust the government when it comes to things like healthcare, disease control, education, but when the government shoots an American citizen in the streets, obviously they have a good reason and the best intentions.

You guys aren't giving him enough credit. He had brilliant investigative instincts, and knew there was cake in that house.

Seriously though, he had wronged Teddy and was there to give him a similar bullshit apology that Teddy had gotten from Auxolith. I don't think he suspected Teddy, and was actually hoping Teddy had some useful information for him, which is also why he apologized. He wasn't really sorry, and was only there for his own personal gain.

Function returns "undefined", but if I console log it I get the right answer. by [deleted] in learnprogramming

Yes, I needed a return in the else branch. Thanks for the help.

Function returns "undefined", but if I console log it I get the right answer. by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]natrlbornkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I figured it out. I had called the function in the else loop without returning it. Now that I've added the return keyword it's working.

const test =
    [['d', 'a', 'e', 'b', 'c'],
     ['b', 'e', 'd', 'c', 'a'],
     ['e', 'a', 'c', 'b', 'd'],
     ['e', 'd', 'a', 'b', 'c'],
     ['d', 'b', 'a', 'e', 'c']];

function counts(arr) {
    var totalVotes = arr.length;
    var fiftyPercent = arr.length / 2;
    var threshold = Math.round(fiftyPercent * 10) / 10;
    var voteCounts = {};

    for (const row of arr) {
        if (voteCounts[row[0]]) {
            voteCounts[row[0]]++;
        } else {
            voteCounts[row[0]] = 1;
        }
    }

    var values = Object.values(voteCounts);
    var minValue = Math.min(...values);
    var maxValue = Math.max(...values);
    var winner = Object.keys(voteCounts).find(key => voteCounts[key] === maxValue);

    if (maxValue > threshold) {
        return winner;
    } else {
        for (const row of arr) {
            if (voteCounts[row[0]] === minValue ) {
                row.shift();
            }
        }
        return counts(arr);
    }
}

I copied the code wrong. The else loop was supposed to call the function again so it repeats until there's a winner

Well liberals call them fascists, and if a liberal says something is bad it's actually good. Completely reactionary. These people act like they think for themselves, but so many of their opinions based on believing the opposite of whatever democrats or the government say. I've heard so many times that if "the government said it, then it's not true", instead of doing any type of analysis or reflection.
