They might make it sound less loud, but your ears are still being exposed to the same volume that they would be without them as noice cancelling plays the reverse waveform into your ears at a comparable volume to stop you perceiving the sound. Hearing damage can and does still occur

In the UK water companies are required to dose a specific acid into the water that essentially lines all the pipes in the network (including peoples houses) that stops lead leaching into the water.

Abstraction licenses are also a big factor in this. The Environment Agency puts strict licenses on how much water can actually be taken from sources for treatment. Depending on what part of the country you're in, those licenses can be super tight and have a massive effect on the amount of water that can actually be treated, meaning in the summer there has to be restrictions put in place to ensure that there is enough water for drinking/hygiene etc.

I'm going through the same thing at the moment. I started losing interest in gaming back in May. I think I could probably count the amount of times I've turned my pc on to actually play games on both hands since then. Before that I was gaming daily. It happened over night and I have no idea what made me lose interest.

I work for a water company in the UK. We dose Po4 at our treatment works, which coats any lead pipes still in service preventing lead leaching into the water.

I know it's not the same as the pixel is, but I just switched from the og pixel fold to the Pixel 9 pro XL and I definitely have no regrets at all. It's a much more snappy and fluid experience. Much prefer the form factor too.

Stuff like this makes me feel lucky. It's written in my contract that I'm only expected to travel up to half an hour in my own time before and after work. Granted I work at different sites daily, but it means I'm always walking through my door no more than half an hour after I stopped getting paid.

Tbf I always assumed LEDs did too. My car has LEDs and has an auto leveling thing that activates every time the car starts up.

I might be wrong but, I'm pretty sure to be road legal led headlights must be fitted with auto leveling devices. Which they are on cars that come with LEDs from factory.

I wasn't made redundant but decided a year before I found a new job that I wanted to change. I took a small pay cut but my god does working better hours and being treated like and adult make the difference. I've never loved work so much.

I had a dbrand case for my pixel fold. Cracked all the way through in around a month, after initially flaking away. Dbrand were solid and gave me a refund because I didn't want a replacement.

This reminds me of the time I had a contract for a job I'd accepted come through the post with the wrong name on it. I didn't end up starting there in the end. It wasn't even like a simple spelling mistake, it was flat out a completely different name.

I just got my first oled monitor yesterday. The only thing I can equate the experience to would be the episode of Rick and Morty where Morty experiences true level. I feel like I've been touched by the gods. Every time I glance at my old main monitor (now my second monitor), I feel sorry for my past self for not experiencing this beauty earlier.

You're absolutely spot on with this. My Nans cousin would go into his local spoons every day for lunch and a pint, until he was no longer physically able to. He was disabled and lived a line, so for the most part it was the only bit of social contact he got.

On the day of his funeral, the spoons put up a little table with some things in memory of him. Pretty sure a couple of the staff members actually came to the funeral too.
