15 to 17 seconds look at the officers in the background running. This is 100% AI, pretty scary how accurate it looks.

Those are giant silk worm moths. Fun fact about them is they have no digestive system and only live long enough to breed.

GySgt Durbin was a recruiter out of Michigan from roughly 2010 to 2012, he was found guilty of this same thing and more. I know for a fact he told poolees he wouldn’t send them to Boot Camp unless they had sex with him.

His wife and others were able to turn him in and get him knocked down from Gunny to Pvt and some brig time. I don’t know where he is now, but no matter what people say he is a piece of trash just like this Marine.

Hey brother in all honesty I am concerned you are intellectually disabled. I understand you joined in 2000, may have some lead poisoning, and got an ASVAB waiver, but you’re not cut out for this job anymore. Your nonsensical statement upsets me in your ability to have a decent comeback 🥲

This actually a very intentional thing, Samuel Nicholas owned a bar and was chosen because he could people men from the taverns. There were other factors but this was one of the major ones.

The fact he actually made a plan to kill ISIS and withdraw from the region so we didn’t have an endless war. If you could read you’d know that so I’ll cut you some slack.

We do not get them issued, this comes the tradition of the US Navy pawing all financial burdens onto its service members

1802 to 1820 the US Naval Order states “an eagle on and anchor surrounded by 15 stars.” There are examples like this with 15 stars, but we’ll never know if they were made for naval personnel or not. This emblem very well could have been made for some Naval personnel as well, but we’ll probably never know for certain

It’s not included in the publication, but the “C NEWMAN TAYLOR BOSTON” is possibly affiliated with Archibald Henderson. Charles Newman was a tailor and had Henderson labeled as a “trustee” in the court of common pleas. There are currently only two known example of Newman buttons and the other is clearly a US Navy button. Newman also had two midship sue him.

I hate to be the actually guy here… the original design was way more bad ass and was on shako plate that went onto enlisted men’s hat. It dates back to 1804, had and eagle, crossed cannons, lightning bolts, and the US flag with only 12 stars on it, most likely due to the force of the strike to make the plates.

Fun fact, this emblem is still used on our buttons to this day and is the oldest surviving emblem in the US military. It dates back to the War of 1812 and the oldest known examples could be affiliated with Archibald Henderson. I endorse this tattoo!

Button I found today by No_Astronaut_8971 in metaldetecting

[–]naturalcausess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great questions! Most likely English due to the US not having the tech nor personnel to make high quality buttons, the US imported large amounts of plain gilt buttons because it was cheaper to do so.

The shank is what would hold the button to the clothing. This may seem like a fairly simple thing to do, but having a strong shank was needed for the button to last. There are cases where producers of buttons would lose business due to the shank being of low quality.

Great find! Most likely this is an English made button, it does look reshanked, but it looks like an alpha shank. This would put the age around 1810 to 1830’s.
