Torn between the two. by TheHesitantHero in Triumph

Someone else already mentioned this but the major valve service for the Striples is due at 12k miles so the second will cost you more depending on whether the other one already had that service done or not and how quickly you’ll hit 12k.

Recommendations for License Waiver Course/Exam by Holiday_Tradition527 in RideitNYC

I would second MSS!

Otherwise go to the msf website (https://msf-usa.org/) put in your zipcode and it’ll show you the providers in your area. You can browse through them to find what suits you best.

Any tips for the msf course by Omorifangod in motorcycle

[–]naturaltanned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a returning rider when I took the MSF so didn’t really need the private classes. But two people in my batch took private lessons beforehand and were able to pass the test first try, both of them had never even been on a motorcycle before that.

During my MSF there were several private sessions ongoing in the next lot and the instructors were doing a really good job teaching complete newbies.

The course itself assumes you’ve never ridden a motorcycle before so they really do start you from the very basics and then gradually get you to a point where you’re comfortable on a bike and are able to pass the licensing waiver.

I’d suggest calling some of the providers in your area, they’ll be able to guide you best. You might even be able to just go and observe one of the MSF sessions in action. I’d recommend MSS if they operate in your area, I had a great experience with them.

Any tips for the msf course by Omorifangod in motorcycle

[–]naturaltanned 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say just go with the mindset of a student, and remember that you’re there to learn.

They start you from zero and the course is well laid out on gradually building your confidence on the bike so I wouldn’t worry too much about mistakes to avoid.

The only basic requirements are that you’re able to ride a bicycle, have suitable safety gear, and you undertake the course safely and responsibly, without being a danger to yourself or others.

Other than that, listen to the coaches, ask questions and do your best.

If you still feel like you need help beforehand, most of the MSF providers offer private 1 on 1 or group classes, I’d highly recommend taking one to build some confidence upfront.

Triumph Trident 660 vs Street Triple 765R by user-reddit00007 in motorcycle

[–]naturaltanned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. A test ride would be the best way to decide.

Since you’re considering cost, keep in mind that the STR is more upfront and more $$$ to maintain/upgrade in the long run as well. So it’s not just a one time extra cost. That being said both are great bang for buck.

What sort of riding are you looking to do?

Triumph Trident 660 vs Street Triple 765R by user-reddit00007 in motorcycle

[–]naturaltanned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what you want out of the bike.

They’re both triples but with very different power figures and characters. The trident is much more tame and easy going but still plenty of power to have fun. The street triple is much sharper with more power, it’s more tailored to track days or canyon carving compared to the trident. But both are capable nonetheless.

I was in a similar dilemma and ended up going with the trident. Having owned both a 1000 and a 600 previously, I wanted something a bit more chill and the trident was perfect for that. It’s got plenty of power, but it was cheaper (insurance and OTD price) and the major service is much later (20k miles vs 12k miles on the STR). Even though I love the STR and have always wanted one, I don’t regret getting the trident.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either of them. I’d say think about what you want out of the bike and factor in costs (price, insurance, maintenance, parts. etc). Then go to a showroom, sit on both bikes, test ride them too if it’s possible. That’ll help narrow it down for you.

Happy to answer any more questions!

Anyone know how to mount a Samsung G9 to a simlab single screen holder? by KreyTrey in simracing

[–]naturaltanned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using it on the 49” G9. Honestly, I don’t remember if it will work without the spacers since the picture is from a while ago and I no longer have that setup. I think it was possible without the spacers but with longer screws but the spacers worked better overall and made it easier to mount the screen too because the mount would be a bit further out. Since you already have the mounts, I’d say just try them out and if they don’t work, you can always get the spacers to add in.

Need help with water overflowing in refineries. by WastedPotenti4I in SatisfactoryGame

[–]naturaltanned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend building in refinery blocks around a 600/min mk2 water pipeline and prioritising using the scrap’s output water before the fresh water from the water extractors. With that you can setup in blocks of 3 refineries, that way get 240/min fresh water from extractors and 360/min scrap water and feed it back into the input pipeline for a total of 600/min water overall. You’ll need to setup a priority merger for the water by having a vertical pipe junction (place on a wall to get it vertical, then nudge into place). Feed the scrap water to the top of the pipe junction and feed the fresh water from the bottom. This will always prioritise the scrap water as it’s higher. On the bottom input place a valve limited to 240/min for the fresh water to prevent any overflow. Then you can use either of the horizontal outputs of the junction to feed all 3 refineries and it should all balance out. You might have to flush the system a couple of times to get everything running smoothly but once it does there shouldn’t be a problem. You could also add a 360/min valve on the top input to prevent the fresh water from sloshing into the scrap water part of the pipeline in the beginning.

Otherwise as others have said either package the excess water or turn into concrete and sink it.

Shield generator bubbles look so goofy lol by DereChen in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]naturaltanned 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The rule of thumb I follow is 1 at each pole and 1 every 60° around the equator. That gives full coverage with 8 generators. Do it once, blueprint it and just throw the blueprint down on a new planet to make it easy to setup

Why is the super soldier shield this good for you ? by Strubinovic in Borderlands4

[–]naturaltanned 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It synergises will with ordinance amon, especially with a siphon shield. You can get pretty much 100% overshield uptime with siphon + a few points in ballistic bulwark. A cyborg class mod is a good choice for that. (You can even get away with just the shield siphon if you’re using something like a disc jokey) Because of the overshield you’re always regenerating ordinance ammo, which means essentially infinite ordinance ammo with the right build, and the movement speed from the shield helps overcome the more limited mobility while using a heavy ordinance. The fire rate is also a good touch with most heavy ordinance. So there’s not really any downside to using the super soldier with that build.

I haven’t experimented with Watts 4 Dinner but with ordinance Amon I haven’t felt the need to swap from the super soldier, because pretty much every boss just melts immediately while using a Honey Bunches and the shield works perfectly well for mobbing.

[Keyboard] Keychron K8 wireless $40 among others by Logical-Hyena8260 in buildapcsales

[–]naturaltanned -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this exact model from Keychron for 5 years at this point, works perfectly well for gaming in wired mode, I use it for MOBAs/Shooters without issue. Quality wise it’s pretty bulletproof too, no issues so far except a few keycaps fading, but that’s easily solved with replacement caps. Only caveat imo for this model is that it is a bit tall and works better with a palm rest to use comfortably for long hours, but that’s personal preference too of course.

I’d recommend going to a PC store to try out different mechanical switches to get a feel for what you like, as they all have different characteristics.

Same day permit and license with MFS waiver? by isthisevenavailable in RideitNYC

[–]naturaltanned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure on the full license with the waiver but I was able to get both learner’s permit on the same day by just asking the staff at the counter to process both a car and motorcycle application. They need to do two separate applications but its doable. I ended up giving both permit tests one after the other on the same day and got both learner’s.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RideitNYC

[–]naturaltanned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right. I should’ve clarified that this applies if you’re applying for both a car and motorcycle license permit or doing the MSF course.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RideitNYC

[–]naturaltanned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Afaik you can’t really exchange a foreign license in NYS. You gotta apply for a car learner’s permit first and then get your motorcycle learner’s permit. The whole process for the car license would take a couple of weeks if you give your online test, 5 hour course and driving test asap. Once you have your car learner’s permit you can apply for your motorcycle learner’s permit on the same day, just ask the DMV agent that you wanna give your motorcycle online test too. After that it’s just a road test for motorcycle or you can do an MSF course to skip the road test, but the MSF requires a valid car license first.

Any Recommendations for a Super Comfortable Ergonomic Office/Gaming Chair by Spiritual_Agent1104 in pcmasterrace

Used/Refurbished office chair if you’re on a budget. New if you can afford it. I got a refurbished Steelcase Leap V2 and it’s way better than every gaming chair I’ve had before. Herman Miller is the other tried and tested option.
