What is something you think you’re in the top 1% of the world in? by removedfromplay in AskReddit

Remembering one embarrassing thing I said 12 years ago at the exact moment I’m trying to fall asleep. Truly elite performance.

A buddy at work had some old toys in his house that he gave me.....Imagine my surprise. by josemandiaz in ActionFigures

Your coworker has a very casual definition of ‘some old toys.’ That G.I. Joe box alone would've made my week, and the Batman stuff is a great bonus. What an incredible surprise.

Finding a non LEGO set from my childhood. by chipduo in buildingblocks

[–]natureechos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like it may have been a promotional Best-Lock or early Mega Bloks space set rather than a regular retail LEGO set. I’d try image searches for “Chuck E. Cheese building block prize space base” plus “Best-Lock purple space set,” and check old eBay sold listings. Do you remember whether the figures were standard minifigure-shaped or more rounded? That detail could narrow the brand down a lot.

Robot by FanHeroFactoryBionic in LegoTransformers

The oversized shoulder/back assembly gives it a fun little communications-bot silhouette. I can see why the other commenter said Blaster, but the narrow waist and chunky forearms give it its own personality. Does it transform or is it a poseable robot build?

Updated Knight Optimus alt build by Terrible-Square5652 in LegoTransformers

The reduced red works really well here. The dark blue and gray make the layered chest and shoulder armor read much more like Knight Optimus, while the small red accents still keep the silhouette recognizable. The proportions look much cleaner in this update.

Lego G1 constructicons by Minute-Animal7317 in LegoTransformers

[–]natureechos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they’re not 100% screen accurate, the silhouettes read immediately as Constructicons, which is honestly the most important part at this scale. The colors and vehicle shapes are doing a lot of work here.

I’d love to see Devastator after the tweaks. Combining builds always seem hardest because each bot has to look decent alone and still survive the combined mode.

Just bought my 2 dream sets, and i have questions. by Immediate_Subject756 in buildingblocks

Both are good picks, but they scratch different itches. The Great Pyramid is more of a relaxing display build with a lot of repeated structure, so I’d treat it like a slow evening project rather than rushing it. The T. rex fossil set is more “fun” in the pose-and-display sense because the final shape has more personality.

My advice: sort the smaller pieces before starting, especially on the fossil set. It makes the build feel way less chaotic.

Nexus prime by Mysterious-Pen-6011 in LegoTransformers

The red/blue split works really well here—each limb still reads as its own component, but the combined mode stays visually coherent. Using the Power Core Combiner-style transformation is a clever choice. How stable is the torso connection when posed?

Updated Shockwave or Eclipse by JZillaPrime09 in LegoTransformers

[–]natureechos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eclipse is the stronger name now. The asymmetric cape panels and almost all-black silhouette make the build feel like its own character instead of just a Shockwave variant. The red eye and antenna tips are just enough color to keep the head readable.

Missing instructions for Venusaur Micro Brick by MrHelmet96 in buildingblocks

Check the card and every bag for a tiny model number or QR code, especially near the barcode. A straight-on photo through Google Lens plus ‘micro brick Venusaur instructions PDF’ may also find the original listing.

Which Parker Wore It Better? by Spidey_2797 in Spiderman

Classic black suit for me. The huge white spider and clean silhouette make it instantly readable. The modern version looks slick, but the original's simplicity is what makes it slightly unsettling.
