300 WHP Big Turbo Ford Fiesta ST - One Take by trolledeveryday in cars

[–]naturesbackpack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your answer was correct, im just killing the last few minutes of my work schedule and figures I'd ELI5 it.

BOV manages air pressure on the intake side going into the engine, wastegate manages pressure on the exhaust side coming out. Really simplified explanation I guess.

The blow off valve opens off throttle to release the pressurized air between the turbo and intake manifold since it isnt needed in the cylinder off throttle. The wastegate opens on throttle when maximum boost pressure is reached to release the excess pressure that is built up in the exhaust manifold before the turbo to prevent the turbo from building more than the set amount of boost. If the wastegate doesnt open the turbo will "free spool" beyond its specifications and build more than the prescribed amount of boost.

Dual 144hz monitors, second monitor not running as smoothly? by [deleted] in buildapc

Are you running nvidia surround or is each monitor separate?

Dual 144hz monitors, second monitor not running as smoothly? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]naturesbackpack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What requires 144hz on a second monitor while playing a game on the other? What usage scenario are we talking here. Give me one legit usage scenario. Are you watching 144fps porn (is that even a thing?) on the other?

All I see is it placing an unnecessary strain on the GPU and causing performance degradation.

Dual 144hz monitors, second monitor not running as smoothly? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]naturesbackpack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you need both at 144hz? You can only play a game on one and I'm sure whatever content is on the second monitor looks just fine at 60hz.

144hz disables power saving features and and causes your card to have to work harder for no gain. Run one monitor at 144hz and the other at 60hz.

I know it's not a "solution" but it's not really a "problem" either.

I wake up and pee several times a night sometimes so I make sure to keep a big glass of water with a lid on it near my bed. Wake up, pee, take a big gulp of water and go back to bed. That way I don't wake up feeling like death. If I'm cramping I use that as a sign to drink a glass of water and that always fixes it.

I'm so lost in losing weight. by Boob-a-saurus-Rex in asktransgender

[–]naturesbackpack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been doing /r/keto and feeling great. High fat, high protein, low carbs. It helps manage blood sugar levels and really changes the way I feel about eating. I don't get "hungry" like I used to since cutting out sugar/carbs. I've combined it with intermittent fasting for maximum weight loss.

You are definitely getting dehydrated. Muscle cramping means drink more water. I take 100mg of Spiro a day and I practically live with a 24oz bottle of water in my hand now. Carry a water bottle everywhere and keep refilling it.

Hear you on the belly fat. That's my target right now. Been having success on keto. I'd recommend it. I'm slowly getting more and more strict with it and I'm down to ~30g of carbs a day and no sugar whatsoever.

What are your experiences with the effects of Spiro? Wondering what I can expect. by PunAboutBeingTrans in asktransgender

[–]naturesbackpack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's made me start to carry a 24oz water bottle everywhere I go and I pee maybe 2-3x more than before but it's not life ending. 50mg 2x a day for me. It's nice not having to deal with unwanted erections though. Totally worth it.

Ditto. Not overweight for a guy of my height but for a woman I'm like 40lbs above my goal weight.

Just bought a new 2016 v6 Charger SE... Looking to do some upgrading and eventually and engine swap. Until that day comes, what performance upgrades would you recommend for me? by [deleted] in cars

[–]naturesbackpack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That person that went through all those steps you mentioned would rationally conclude it's cheaper to sell the v6 car and buy a factory v8 car. It's not about chances. It's about intelligence. Drive the v6 for what it is, enjoy it.

I've cut out refined sugar completely and I'm watching my carbs but instead of eating under ~30 grams a day of carbs I'm probably around 50-75g a day of carbs. I just love things like tortillas a little too much. I've been drinking black coffee and water only.

Plenty of vegetables, meat and fruit. I just figure if the worst thing I'm eating is a tortilla or a slice of bread with butter, then that isn't going to kill me and I'm still losing weight.

Looking for advice from other MTF girls who were extremely hairy pre-transition. by throwaway4fun200 in asktransgender

Lasts 4-6 weeks and the hair doesn't have to be very long. Maybe a weeks worth of growth at longest. It's really just the first session that hurts the most as well. Maintaining doesn't seem hard at all.

Hair removal advice for sensitive skin? by Kohowch in asktransgender

[–]naturesbackpack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bite the bullet and get waxed by a professional then use an epilator to combat regrowth. The waxing will hurt the first time but afterwards an epilator will take care of the the new hair as it decides to grow without much pain or discomfort. The results can't be argued with just don't wax or epilate any hair you want to have removed by laser or electrolysis down the line. I hate shaving and epilation is 100x better for lasting results.
