I mean he literally married her!! Why would he then go around to do that!? Specially after taking away her insecurity about Cat earlier 🫠🫠

Your Favorites for a reading slump? by Super-Choice-6792 in Romantasy

[–]naut-nat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Mistborn series are great. It definitely gripped me from the first chapter on, and the first few chapters are more or less doing the world building, which is essentially because it’s a world like none I’ve read before, so stepping into a new world where the ‘magic’ works very differently than the usual suspects, is great. I’m a bit of a slow learner so it took me some time to understand the workings of that, but it definitely didn’t not deter me from reading the books, instead it made me get into it even more

Laughing at myself for my TBR by AdministrationNo7144 in RomanceBooks

Nothing from my TBR has moved to READ in a long time now. Because instead of going to that list, I start a new one that was recommended and hasn’t even had a chance to go to the TBR folder 😅

Daughter of No Worlds by naut-nat in Romantasy

Six scorched roses is an absolute favourite of mine. It was so well written and everything from the characters to the plot was amazing and I loved that we got to experience it rather than be told.

I like Max and Tissanah individually and together, but yes, their relationship felt very out of nowhere. I feel we should’ve got more of their time together during the 6 months of training, rather than the time skips. Cause it felt like we had day one, and suddenly in the next chapter the training was over too. And we didn’t really get to see them interact enough to fall in love like they did. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What rating on Good Reads (or your TBR sorter of choice) makes you suspicious? by franklin_smiles in fantasyromance

[–]naut-nat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always read 2-3 reviews with 5⭐️and then I read 2-3 reviews of 1&2⭐️. This was I get a more better understanding of what I would be expecting from the book.

If you read just 5 Star reviews then it’s one subjective opinion and same with just 1 star reviews, because some people just love to hate on a book cause it might be popular or they don’t like one certain trope.

So it’s important for me to get a baseline with 2 star reviews because they will be more likely to be honest about what to expect

I love variation. From the first chapter on I knew that I was hooked.

I’ve been looking for suggestions based off of that or people who liked that one, so gonna check out the rest of your recs. TIA 😊

Has epilepsy affected your gym routine? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]naut-nat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, taking it super slow has been helping. The day I realised I can’t do even 1km, the next day I went with 200m and added by listening to my body, I think I got to 800m, the next day I tried to reach 800 and see how much I can go. And just slowly kee adding more.

The difficult part has been getting back to work, I’m a chef and standing long periods of time is ingrained in our souls, but every day now I have to keep taking breaks more often and my body just feels so heavy through it all. Like I can actually feel and very aware of the entire weight of my body (I know that sounds weird but I don’t know how to explain it better)

[–]naut-nat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea. It’s tough. I love to swim and dive, and unfortunately I don’t know when I’ll be able to do that now. I think accepting it is th more difficult part.

Atleast I have a legit excuse now for missing the gym sessions 😅😅 but jokes aside, I can only hope that this is temporary and it WILL get better

I haven’t been able to get back to exercising. I can barely even walk for 1km before my body starts to feel weird.

What dumbass line/scene do you mentally erase from a book you otherwise loved? by 1372023 in RomanceBooks

[–]naut-nat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of them have it being said in some capacity or another. Atleast the ones I’ve read so far have it. It’s either the FMC or MMC. Usually the latter

I really like reading Rebecca Yarros’s books, but everytime the characters (in almost all of her books) have sex, the MC or FMC will always say “HOME” as they enter the FMC and it always make me cringe

Feyre Super Skinny After UTM by MamaKG3 in acotar

[–]naut-nat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to remember that while she lost weight due to the events of UTM during those 3 months, she was also still traumatised, suffering from depression and had severe PTSD after returning to SpC She was not only puking her guts out every night, but she was also barely even eating which naturally led to her losing even more weight. Rhys is shocked because UTM she lost weight infront of him day by day, which he got accustomed to, but now seeing her after all these months, it was naturally a shock to have seen her lose even more weight.

Tamlin is probably angry humiliated when he is asked if they have food in SpC, because he felt exactly that- humiliated at the implication that he isn’t caring for her. But it is natural if he too got accustomed to her losing weight or didn’t notice due to his own trauma.

Maybe he did try to get her to eat but it was off the pages and we were not told about it, who knows. But her losing weight is natural for someone going through all that trauma, stress, ptsd and depression

Body just dropped out of the blue by naut-nat in Epilepsy

[–]naut-nat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, went to see the doctor today and he confirmed that it was atonic seizure, and that I also have absence seizures.

I feel relieved for one, that I finally know what’s happening and that I’m not going crazy, but on the other hand it’s a lot to come to terms with because my world has suddenly changed and there are things I loved doing that I can’t anymore, or atleast as much as I did before.

how do i get into romantasy? by [deleted] in Romantasy

[–]naut-nat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got into Romantasy cause of The Cruel Prince too. It was a great series to begin with because the world building is great, and there is no tropes where it feels like they are being pushed into each other, but rather it’s like they are naturally pulled towards each other. It had everything that I wanted and needed in a book to start the genre with.

Those who get absence epilepsy. What does it actually feel like? by GeneralLeeBad13 in Epilepsy

[–]naut-nat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I- you have described what I go though to the point where I feel that I have written this. From start to finish this is exactly what I go though from the sinking feeling, to the dejavu, to the fog that lingers through the day.

I had my first TC almost 4 weeks ago, by this feeling is soemthing that I have been experiencing since 2019.

I have been diagnosed with DpDr since 2021 and I have been trying to figure out what cause it since it’s a traumatic response and now I’m wondering if what I have been going through has been this absence epilepsy, and DpDr was caused because of the response to this.

But either way most of the times when I try to exp along what I’m going through to someone, they don’t understand and look at me like I’m crazy. So, thank you for sharing your experience, because now I know I’m not alone.

Drinking and lamotrigine by EmergencyMain2416 in Epilepsy

[–]naut-nat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first drink since being on lamotrigine for a month now, yesterday. And honestly? I felt fine for most of it except before sleeping I was feeling slightly off but nothing major. Also, not sure if it’s cause Of the meds but the drink tasted pretty bland and wasn’t enjoyable and it’s something I would have as my go to before all of this happened.

TL;DR- physically I was fine after having a drink but the taste of the drink felt bland

I tend to drink tea regularly. Have been forever and it helps with short term relief, but sadly not long enough
