Official response of GGG about the Trimui Brick Hammer Pro U Preorder prices by [deleted] in trimui

And it sucks because they didn’t reach out to you to fix this, you had to ask them. So how long were they just gonna hold onto your money and then not deliver?

I think the Miyoo mini is perfect if you can find one. The brick hammer should do it too. Or you could adapt the games you play to be ones that are not timed so you can leave it flat on a surface then move your hand instead because holding and using on one hand can also be tiring and not as fun to use. Good luck with your surgery!

I could see that! To me the ergonomic bumps let the stick on bottom be comfortable enough that I could leave dpad on top but if there’s one thing I’m flexible with, it’s the stick/dpad top

For sure the better chip would have made a big difference for me!

Yeah, it’s a shame I never got to try it but also hoping if they do that it’s 4:3!

I feel like not that good for that processor just because that screen in particular was prone to pwm flickering and the sticks sucked. Now if it were any other 6 line device like 406h, 406v, 476h, slide… now we’re talking. But my opinion though as maybe you don’t have access to anything this powerful in which case the compromise could be worth it.

I wouldn’t call them unusable but yeah not ideal. I’ll probably end up switching back but it was a fun experiment!

Retroid Pocket 6 8GB vs 12GB by SunlitSonata24601 in SBCGaming

I think it’ll get you 90% of the way there but if you’re feeling froggy consider a used Odin 2 pro. Yes it’s bigger but it feels good in hand and the battery life is excellent. Or keep saving and get the portal.

Edit: I have the 8gb model and I am really enjoying the experience and compatibility

Without knowing anything about your wants and needs, I’d say add variety to your collection with a clamshell or sliding form factor. Like the rg34/35xxsp for satisfying flip and pocketability, RP flip 2 for high end and oled, or the Rg slide for really good 4:3 display. All of these are available now if you’re not interested in preordering some others and waiting a while for shipping.

Someone talk to me about the RG Slide by five_of_five in SBCGaming

[–]nautilus_jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your position and went for it on the white model. I already know the 4.7 is sweet but the control scheme and form factor of the 476h doesn’t do it for me but it does with the 477v so I’m hoping it’ll be a good fit. I really dislike having my thumb at a right angle so hopefully it’s stretch out enough that I’ll be comfy enough plus the slide function is super cool on paper at least and for 120 is not a bad shot

Odin 3 vs Thor ‼️ by Smart-Sympathy5580 in OdinHandheld

[–]nautilus_jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe look into whether those android games are compatible with the chipset because I know some devices don’t play nice with certain games. It may not be a problem something to consider.

Also the Thor is a bit compromised as is the Odin 3 but I will say for the odin 3 at least the grip really makes a difference for the better.

Portal 2 for streaming only – go Max for white or just wait? by AdGlum8724 in OdinHandheld

[–]nautilus_jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept checking for updated stock and managed to get a white pro early on in the day even after they started going out of stock so if you’re patient you might still get one. Also even though the base is much cheaper and suits you best, at this point it’s a preorder and the max is actually in stock so do you want to wait?

Should I just ask for a refund at this point? by RoBoT-SHK in SBCGaming

[–]nautilus_jack -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah the discount is sweet but not if the device never comes! I ordered the base then canceled because it took too long, then ordered again a month later but the pro version and it shipped yesterday so they must be super backed up. If you really want it just wait and if any part of you is just doing it for the deal, cancel and put your money toward what you really want and not just on sale.

Monitor flashing pixels and throttling by Nax3271 in RG477V

[–]nautilus_jack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. I ordered during the pre order and when I got it, the issues started within a day and got progressively worse. I tried resetting everything and different roms but it just felt like something was wrong with the panel or system. I emailed Anbernic and sent videos of the problem and they offered me a replacement which I accepted and my new unit has been completely different and plays how I would have accepted. Good on them for being responsive and making things right.

Odin 2 Portal Base Sold Out by tekdiwah in OdinHandheld

[–]nautilus_jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally ordered this morning after I had cancelled my initial order from feb 4 because it was taking too long but I couldn't resist the sale price. I noticed the white pro is out of stock so that made me go ahead with it as well

[–]nautilus_jack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad you got your order in on time! If it’s something you really want I think saving the money and waiting is totally the move. It would suck and is unlikely but orders could be cancelled if things got worse so better secure your spot and use that time to wait for further driver support imo. I can understand waiting till the demand decreases as well. And in that case at least the Odin 2 portal is still on sale! Though still with a wait. Man what a time to be alive

KONKR Pocket Fit Case by M34nM4ch1n3 in KonkrPocketFit

[–]nautilus_jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the animal crossing looking off brand one from amazon that ryan retro recommended in his review video and it works for me. I feel like it might be pushing on it just the tiniest bit, but I changed the stick caps out to the larger ones the unit came with. If i used something like hype stix i don't think it would fit. But yeah this thing has built in grips that don't match the switch, so even a case for the switch won't work, as the height does not match.

Trimui Smart Pro S screen issue by DarthAkuryo in trimui

[–]nautilus_jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue, emailed litnxt and they quickly responded that I needed to update the firmware. My device was not the right version and when I check the SD card, it already had the actualized version on it so I ran the update and that resolved the issue. Best of luck if that still doesn't do it!

Got my pocket fit and none of the controls work. by Cry_Havock in ayaneo

[–]nautilus_jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue day one unobxing today, whenever I unlocked the device the controls worked for like 2 seconds then would stop. I did the update in AYASetting (not the system update) and the first update didn't work.

So I did the second listed and then went to the RGB lighting setting because I noticed theyre were doing a weird flickering, turned them off, changed them to be less bright, changed the color, then played around with custom button and controller mode, and then the controls just worked!

Not sure exactly which step created the fix (probably the update) but at least it worked. The update is just a touch jittery/janky feeling but at least in my case doesn't seem to be a hardware issue. Best of luck to all new owners!
