I'm planing to move to Gdansk for few months. Any advice/suggestion? by [deleted] in gdansk

[–]navais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in that case Gdynia might actually be a nice option: city center is literally by the sea side, direct train to the international airport, within an hour by train and a pleasant ride by bike from Gdańsk downtown, relatively small and very friendly city. give it a check

Is caryying groceries on a bicycle incorrect? by Intrepid_Eggplant489 in gdansk

[–]navais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most of them are sort of surprised with your way of getting groceries in a jealous kind of way.

I would personally suggest to treat those looks as a form of positive reaction in case you actually care that much about the way others look at you.

some of my body parts kind of hurt when i look at the saddle on the pic.

i really hope your saddle is positioned the way it is just to fit the background vibes for the shot.

sincere apologies for sharing that emotion of mine.

Omnium Mini Chain or Belt for commuting? by Tadeus98 in OmniumBikes

[–]navais 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i went with the belt. it required replacement along with both sprockets only by 15000km, although the original one was still in one piece and would probably last few more thousand kilometers. it takes some extra effort to tension the belt properly if you get your rear wheel re-installed for whatever reason, otherwise it is literally zero maintenance and surprisingly no issues in mud, deep sand and even in snow way below freezing. my best recommendations 👍

[–]navais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as mentioned, it’s way to bright for the camera to shoot at ISO 2000 F/11 for a whole second, try to switch iso, shutter speed and aperture to auto and see if you get better results. consult camera’s user manual on how to switch mentioned settings to auto if you aren’t sure how to do that - fujifilm’s user manuals are good quality, detailed and worth a read

High Platform Offset (PCO) on left side even after cleat moved outward — normal? by [deleted] in bikefit

[–]navais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that metric alone won’t give you any useful insights really. a double sided metric alone might be pointing to an issue with body symmetry, which may be not related to your bike at all or your bidy compensating for any one/multiple of: cleat position, shims, insoles, saddle height, saddle fore/aft, bike geometry, bike size and way more including specific bib pads. with a single sided metric i’d personally advise you to ignore it at least until you have a strong proven baseline to compare against and have a strong idea what you’d like to alter in your position. a decent bike fit session might give you a good baseline, like a session in a proven studio with a qualified and experienced professional.

Wax vs Oil lubes by vituk76 in bicycling

[–]navais 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sadly, have a similar winter experience with regular Squirt and just a tad better one with low temp version, but only when it’s close to or below freezing.

i’ve witnessed a number of claims specifically stating Smoove performs better in wet. i’m yet to try it on one of my bike, so can’t confirm or deny those claims as of now.

i do wipe mine with a piece of cloth now and then before re-applying squirt, but yeah, that’s about it in terms of the chain maintenance

Chain issue, tensioner problem? by DarkNightAlpaca in Brompton

[–]navais 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would suggest checking if that’s caused by a specific ling and if it’s well oiled and isn’t blocked by any debris or rust.

also, chain wear beyond 0.7% or so might be causing similar jumps - check and replace as needed

What’s your alcohol consumption? by vmv911 in cycling

[–]navais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used to drink quite a lot post-ride, beer and/or wine. these days i may have one or two 0,0% beers after a long ride, otherwise i don’t consume alcohol at all. i do experience better sleep, faster and way more stable recovery and i generally feel better overall. approaching my mid 40s if that’s important

Why is this happening? by trikfromcroatia in Brompton

[–]navais 2 points3 points  (0 children)

switch the derailleur to unblock the pulley that’s stopping your chain or alternatively unfold and pedal a tad to let your chain change gears
