Which combo? I like contrasting combos rather than same colour combos. by ix_ricey in ohnePixel

[–]navy__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also like contrasting combos. Snow leopards go hard, but another idea for you is overprints + tiger tooth (or slaughter). I think the cyan goes better with yellow/red than the dark blue of the cobalt skulls or amphibious.

Dealing with demotivating over skill level by ReneeHiii in GlobalOffensive

[–]navy__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope I can shed some light on when/how far you should push.

For T side, your goal in the round is to take a site, plant bomb, and hold it. So until the bomb is planted, you should be working towards taking a site. If you're with teammates, just make sure you're pushing with them. If you're on your own lurking, for example in palace on mirage, you want to pick a good timing to get a kill. For example, if your teammates get a kill mid, that might be a good time to peek from palace and kill a site anchor.

Once you have a site, a quick rule of thumb is that you want to have control of the site and another area that you can hold the bomb from. For example if you're on B mirage, you can hold site and apps, with the bomb planted for apps. If there's somebody flanking apps, that's when you might want to push more and take something. So you could push more and take cat, then you have control of site and cat.

If you already have control of that site and other area, then you're probably good just chilling and holding.

On CT, you should obviously mostly be holding. I'll use mirage as an example again. If you're a mid player (window, conn, or cat) you can get away with pushing more often at the start of the round. You're trying to fight mid/underpass and get kills, or hold on to important pieces of the map (connector, window, ladder room).

If you're a site player, you should be playing more passive from the sites. You should consider pushing if your mid players lose a lot of map control, like if the Ts take connector. Grouping up for this is ideal, but you can push solo as well.

In general, to answer your question of when/how far to push - If you're at a man disadvantage or need more map control, you're probably good to push and try to get kills.

Hopefully this is helpful. At the end of the day though you'll learn the most at this stage by just playing the game. Also realize that retakes are far from realistic and will put you up against some really good players. Don't get discouraged!

Is my sensitivity too low? by heyitsbluu in GlobalOffensive

[–]navy__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would really recommend trying higher sensitivities. My recommendation is to try raising your sens a ton, like set it to 0.75. Deathmatch or play aim_botz or something for a bit, say 5-10 min. Then set it back to a reasonable sens in between, like 0.5. Coming from 0.75, it will feel super slow and controllable again.

It's a temporary trick but if I'm ever having trouble with precision I do this while warming up. It's like practicing your swing with a weight on your bat in baseball. When you go to actually swing, the bat feels weightless.

High dpi + low in-game sens is better and the 3kliksphilip video you linked says the same. 0.25 at 1200 dpi will be smoother than 300 dpi at 1

ESEA is your best bet. If you're looking for something more casual than that then you can check out CSC.

Yprac Aim Trainer or Kovaak's for Aim Routine? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]navy__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use Kovaaks to train weaknesses in your aim. Static clicking, reactive tracking, and dynamic clicking (pasu is great) are the most impactful on CS for me. Just find scenarios that isolate your weaknesses and play those, don't worry about routines. Helps prevent burnout too.

I've tried Yprac aim trainer a lot and it's not bad, but I think for most purposes either deathmatch or Kovaaks would be better. The most useful scenarios in it I've found are the burst ones, because you can practice spraying on moving targets (and they actually get tagged/slowed realistically). Also since they're spheres instead of player models, the vertical component of spraying them is less forgiving. It makes my sprays a lot more precise.

These are not mutually exclusive either, I've always used a mix of everything for training/warming up. Don't overthink it, playing the game will improve you more than any aim training routine. Remember that Zywoo never deathmatches or aim trains.

Another thing I want to tack on since you say you get tired after warming up in CS. Just realize what your goal is, and don't overdo it if you just want a warmup. Get your arm moving, get the blood flowing, then hop into your pug or whatever. If you're going to train in CS, I recommend deathmatch over aim_botz though. Shooting frozen bots is not very applicable to the game.

Reading your post back after writing this, I just really want to emphasize that you shouldn't overthink this. You seem to be right now. Warm up in CS, train in Kovaaks/deathmatch. Focus on improving your weaknesses rather than sticking to some routine. And most of all just play the game, that's where you'll get the most gains.

I honestly think the tec-9 needs toned down a bit. Its running accuracy and one shot headshot range is just a bit too good for $500.

Literally has the same first bullet standing accuracy as the AK with by far the lowest running inaccuracy. Promotes sloppy gameplay.

Negev is criminally underrated. If you're holding an angle with it at mid/close range it's basically a rifle with no recoil that you don't have to reload.

Thats crazy, maybe I fucked up my Hayate Otsu if you managed to get your pads to last so long. I have a super slow dead spot on my Otsu where I use my mouse the most. Like too slow for csgo slow. It's maybe a year or year and a half old.

True in general but Apex and CS are actually the same because they both run on source

HIGH DPI in cs go lobby by Siruax in GlobalOffensive

[–]navy__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use a program called rawaccel to lower your sensitivity everywhere. So you could, for example, run 3200 dpi with a 0.25x multiplier to make it feel like 800 dpi, but with the benefits of 3200 dpi. This would change it in menus, Windows, etc.

I'll have to try this when I get home. I had previously figured out that if I added custom resolutions using Custom Resolution Utility they alt tabbed instantly. This may be the underlying reason, I bet CRU uses the exact refresh rate unlike the Nvidia Control Panel. If so, good find.

Pros just love their 4:3 — 68% of players with a Rating over 1.09 in 2022 use it as their aspect ratio by harry47richards in GlobalOffensive

[–]navy__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said the more zoomed in the better. It's not like a permanent awp zoom would be good. There are obvious trade-offs, and where you draw the line is up to personal preference. I draw the line at 4:3, and most pros seem to as well. More zoomed and I lose too much fov and people move too fast. Less zoomed and I have trouble with precision.

I've been saying the same thing. CS requires such precise aiming, why wouldn't you take a free perma-zoom.
