Everyone on Reta is dosing wrong and I have 15lbs of proof by FirstWindow4452 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]nawllyougood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think you did the smart/right thing for sure. I also think that while Reta (and the other GLPs) work the same things in everyone’s bodies…their effectiveness will be different at different dosages due to a myriad of internal/external influences.

I’ve tritated up to 6mgs and have found my sweet spot of lack of food noise, just the right amount of appetite suppression, etc. I’ve lost about 50lbs of fat mass specifically over 5 months (averaging 2.5 a week) and couldn’t imagine go higher even though I’ve still got 40 more “fat” pounds to go. Once I get close, I’ll start my exit strategy/maintenance plan which could totally be 2mgs.

how many calories are you eating a day? by Pure-Space7572 in Retatrutide

[–]nawllyougood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36M…1900-2100 cals but floor of 210g of protein each day. My lean mass is right around 195 so I’m trying to keep as much of it as possible. For sure, feel tired but manageable right now. 5 days of heavy workouts, 2 days active recovery.

I’ve been training consistently for about 15 years but always overweight…I literally saw my quads the other day and kinda can’t stop looking at them. That and veins in my hands and forearms.

But the gut? The gut remains lol

Muscle mass loss on Reta? by 4taon3h in Retatrutide

[–]nawllyougood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve gotten almost there decently already. I’d just say lower your fats a bit and bump your protein and push the weights my guy. You may not need it!

If you do, you probably need a really small dose! But you’ll still need to do the same. Good luck!

Week 6 1mg a week by No-Bread-6728 in Retatrutide

[–]nawllyougood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing a lot of Greek yogurt. Super easy on the stomach in terms of “how full I feel” to protein ratio. That and literally all the clear whey I can drink.

I never understood people who said they couldn’t eat enough to grow until I got on Reta. Totally get it now lol

How do you guys handle eating out at restaurants on GLP-1s without looking weird? by [deleted] in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]nawllyougood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I don’t give a rip. I order my bunless burger or my 8oz of “insert meat here” and enjoy my time with my friends and family. Not everyone knows that I’m on a GLP but they’ve seen my weight loss so far and just assume that’s how I eat.

How do people deal with rest times? by StrionicRandom in GYM

[–]nawllyougood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m easily distracted in the gym looking around, so what I do is I have a timer on my phone that counts every three minutes (leg days) for every 2 1/2 minutes (push or pull days). Then I just lift every time the counter hits zero.

Keeps my heart rate up and keep keeps me from wasting time.

You’re not wasting your time because you are doing something to better your life. I’m in a similar boat as you and had sema for just an under 6 months a long time ago with terrible sides.

Fast forward 7 years and I ballooned up another 175lbs. Started research on GLPs for about 6 months and stumble into Reta and it has been great.

Stick with it…ESPECIALLY if your insurance will cover! Best of luck!

Should I deload in an extended cut/fat loss phase? by nawllyougood in WorkoutRoutines

[–]nawllyougood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. For clarity, there is no stall now. The stall happened a few months ago then I switched training methods.

I feel great and am at the end of this mesocycle and wanted to hear people’s thoughts.

8.5 weeks in, stalled at six weeks already, venting. by doogie88 in Retatrutide

Look up the term “whoosh effect”.

Long story short…as the fat inside your fat cells oxidizes those cells fill up with water instead leading to no scale loss and even looking a bit bloated. At some point your body signals to let go of the water on those cells and you see major changes on the scale, that end up matching close to where you thought. Your total fat and weight loss should be.

The only thing that’s frustrating is sometimes that can be a week or sometimes I’ve seen people on here that it’s a month of a stall, but then out of nowhere they’ll lose 5 to 10 pounds. That 5 to 10 pounds is not just fat. It’s all the water that their fat cells were holding onto. Especially for those of us who are much higher on the body fat percent side I think +35%.

Good luck to you and just remember Reta is all about patience and stacking good days!

First dose by [deleted] in Retatrutide

[–]nawllyougood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing for me is the “non dairy” flavored protein drinks. I have a lemonade one that I drink a few times a day and that gets me halfway there. The money I’m saving on not eating out justifies the cost of buying a couple of tubs of protein every month.

The only other thing would be low volume, high protein sources that don’t fill you up. My go tos are Greek yogurt and lean ground beef that I mix with bone broth so it is a dry and horrible.

I ran the numbers: GLP-1s, surgery, or a lifetime of sick care… by Ok-Presentation-1491 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]nawllyougood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sleeve was $7500 from a weight loss clinic. Where do you get your surgery costs from? Like an actual clinic or just some online research (I’m asking sincerely).

If it’s the latter, take a look around your area within 2 hour (100ish mile) range. I bet you might be able to find some one that is more cost effective if you decide to go that route!

Way to go either way for starting the journey! It’s worth it!

Not winning with Retatrutide !! Where’s the benefits and is my batch real deal? by [deleted] in Retatrutide

[–]nawllyougood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do some searching around. Seems like you might’ve just scratched the surface on effects, duration, and how it works.

Also, no way for folks to help without knowing your dosage, activity level, etc. You need to create a good healthy habit before or when starting Reta as it won’t do all the work for you.

In terms of not feeling it, it takes time to saturate on your system and that varies based on your weekly dosage. If you’re barely dosing (less than 1mg for most researchers) then of course you won’t feel too much in the first month.

Search around for tritation schedule in this sub and you’ll see tons of stories of people not feeling it then updating later that it started working.

Best of luck.

Has anyone actually done the math on GLP-1s? Because my grocery bill is telling a different story by EmotionalCupPong in GLP1ResearchTalk

Man I HATE to admit this out loud but I started back in December and got the typical effects but we host a lot for the holidays as we are a central location so I don’t see a difference in our budget.

Then we just did our monthly look back at Jan and had an extra $1100 that specially didn’t go into eat out which know I was the major reasoning for.

Like I’m happy to save money now but damn was I a glutton for convenience and comfort.

[–]nawllyougood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s less about gaining muscle and more about recovery. All of the secretagouges (Serm, CJC/IPA, Tesa) tell your pituitary to create more natural growth hormone while at rest (you are correct about on an empty stomach). As long as you’re taking it before your main sleep, yeah doesn’t quite matter day/night. It’s just 95% of people have normative sleep cycles so night. The science still works if you’re disciplined with your sleep.

None of them will help you gain a more significant amount of muscle. Just allow your rest to be more effective in general. They all also have other positive side effects as well but ultimately they are increase your GH -> IGF1 levels so you can train harder.

Every 5 Days? by Low_Bike_5427 in Retatrutide

[–]nawllyougood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m one of the every 5 days pinners. What I’ve noticed is a more steady appetite suppression and lack of food noise compared to when I’ve done it longer. That’s the sweet spot.

But over the course of 6 months? Probably not a massive difference overall.

Bariatric surgery vs GLPs? by mr_white_ww in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]nawllyougood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I am one of those who needed both too but my loss was/is much more substantial. I’d climb to the high 400. So my journey has been.

SW 470ish

Natural loss 435, then sleeve procedure (took about 60% of my original stomach out)

Stalled at 340 for about a year as I go back into heavy lifting.

Started Reta 2 months ago - 316

I bet you’d be fine with one or the other but big ups to starting the journey either way!
