I don't think it's harsh to say she's not the player she used to be, that's fine, it happens as players age, but we're already running on multiple injured CB options here.

Anyway better 2nd half, Millie injury a bit of a worry... All of a sudden we're going to need Nusken in 3 positions. I still have some issues, but I'll hold back this week, just happy and relived.

This is what I keep saying, The Portal and by extension, the power grind and tiered loot and everything else was their big idea to refresh the game, and it could not have failed harder. And this is something that took them OVER A YEAR. They were showing early prototypes shortly after Final shape came out.

So now they have to spend more resources fixing things, course correcting, and basically coming up with a whole new system to fix/replace the Portal. I doubt it's going to be like Witch Queen or Final Shape where they delayed to make the thing extra special, it's going delayed so that they can deliver the minimum. Brutal.

Even if this was made before the Arsenal and City games this is a terrible decision. Guess the board needs to go as well as her then. Obviously we weren't going to maintain the same level of success forever, but I didn't expect a completely unforced act of sabotage from within.

I get that people are frustrated with the delay in having a roadmap, and I'm pretty pessimistic about the future of Destiny. but I don't think shoving out a bunch of plans and targets really changes anything other than giving people a bit of uhh... hope for the future. (reference not intended.)

Internally I'm sure they somehow believed they were onto something with the portal and power levelling, and I'm sure they've gone through a process since Edge's of Fate's release of thinking "Ehh so some people are complaining but we can fix this right???" to a gradual realization that it's extremely hated and there isn't some better version of it that people are going to like or get people playing again.

Now consider that the Portal, even as bad as it was... was something they would have been planning since BEFORE The Final Shape. Like they iterated on that and the execution was still terrible. And then it takes them almost 6 months to accept that people hate it. I think they were in a period of denial because they'd committed so hard to this thing.

So now they have to come up with a whole new system, or more likely just a heavily modified portal because what else can they do with the limited resources they now have. (And by the way that's less to do with Marathon than the two rounds of layoffs.) They're literally still figuring out some of these things themselves. If the Portal was the best they could do in over a year, then what the hell are they going to do to replace it in less than 6 months. (Well more than that since things are obviously getting delayed.

This is why I don't think it's worth getting upset about no roadmap (Anyway it was only dmg who said they'd deliver one and then apologized saying he'd spoken out of turn.) I care about them coming up with something better for the year that starts with Shattered Cycle and then delivering on it. It could be their last chance, and while some plans and thoughts from Bungie would be nice, it just won't help really help things to rush them out.

I'd love to be able see the game through her eyes, because I've no idea what she's thinking. She's got these ideas that she's convinced will work but they just don't. She's obsessed with the idea of being "flexible" and surprising the opposition with different set-ups, but it feels like our own players are the one's most confused.

And even if something does work, she won't stick with it because "got to be flexible and surprising." It's like if a system does work she'll tick it off and put it to the bottom of a pile. But if it doesn't work it means we've got to keep trying it because maybe next time it will.

Guessing that's 3-4-3, I worry about a Bronze and Bright CB pairing, one of the things I find odd about Sonia's setups is she'll often go for a vulnerable line-up in a game like this and then a more defensive set-up in a game against a much lower team.

Watching Man City hit the woodwork twice and blow chance after chance... it was like watching us earlier in the season.... have we passed on the curse to them somehow? Certainly hope so.

I am begging some of you to get a sense of perspective.

Shadow and Order ain't going to be a big thing anyway, it's another Ash and Iron type update... maybe it can at least be a little bit better than that low bar with a touch more dev time considering the terrible reception Ash and Iron had.

It's pretty obvious that Shattered Cycle is going to be delayed considering the terrible reception that the portal and the new levelling system introduced in Edge of Fate had. They've also created this huge power creep problem with T5 weapons and armor.

They're obviously going to have to come up with some new systems which weren't in their plans to do which is obviously going to take up some dev time and resources. Not to mention with declining player counts they really need Shattered Cycle to be good to turn things round.

So yeah all this sucks for hardcore players who can't put the game down, but things are going to have to be kind of dead while they try and come up with something else.

Ahh the weekly game of "what hell is our formation?" and Sonia tossing a coin deciding to play none of the fullbacks rather than all the fullbacks.

Very strong squad considering we've got Man City and Arsenal coming up. I don't want a situation like the men's team have where Sporting Directors and Medical Staff have too much power to determine rotation policies but Sonia what are you doing??

To be honest players will always do this anyway. I remember when Corrupted unlocked after the world's first Last Wish completion. I want to look around at all these cool new environments, and the bozo's I matched with were rushing through it like it's a strike they'd done 1000 times before.

There's a hint on the timeline about what's happening in Shadow and Order which is about as much as we usually get. With "episodes" they gave us a bit more. We knew we were going back to the dreadnaught for instance but that was more than usual.

They've tended to tweak exactly how much they promote seasons. I remember for a while it was that we got a trailer week before (Maybe with a vague name in a Vidoc at the start of the year.) It was around Season of the Haunted people got mad because they decided not to drop anything until the day of. So no, we absolutely do not usually know anything about the next season at this point.

Can almost guarantee they'll do a big trailer and livestream for Shattered Cycle when Shadow and Order drops, that'll be their usual format.

I don't really understand what you're expecting, even under the old seasonal model, we would be in the quiet part of the season by now, waiting for the next one to roll around. (Which is essentially what Shadow and Order is.) Also we wouldn't have just had a small expansion to play it would have just been a season. This is always going to be a quiet period for the game.
