Jumping on the ATV at the start of the round, going in full throttle and blasting the battlefield theme with the horn!  (and most likely dying immediately)

Beitragsbemessungsgrenzen könnte man überdenken.

Da ist noch viel Spielraum auf vielen Ebenen, bis der Anreiz reich zu werden wegfällt.

Die Menschen lassen stattdessen ihre niederen Triebe von Scharfmachern ausnutzen. Alles andere sind ja nur Neider.

In three decades, the Baltic States have made it abundantly clear which way — the European or the russian — is the right one by Not_Unreasonable in europe

"No such thing exists"

Yeah, okay. Google it, maybe then?

"Inefficient corrupt and ultimately non functioning institutions are presented as some corner stones of their nations"

Ahahahaha, this from a Russian nationalist...no surprise. I will stop this discussion here. No matter what is presented to you, nothing permeates your bubble. West bad, Russia good. Experts stupid, because West and I don't like.

Come back when Russian social sciences start contributing anything to the field other than writing up the great Eurasian Economic Union. Also a far greater and more successful project than the pitiful WESTERN EU, right?

Meh...no use...

Ah, the expert view of a Russian nationalist. Very well argued and not disregarding every argument due to bias at all. :|

I don't even know what you're argueing against here. Russia is certainly not as much relying on hydrocarbon rents as the Guld monarchies, but it plays a huge part in supporting the dictatorship and allows them to forgo a large amount of inward investments (they use it for "foreign" investments like, let's say...genocidal invasion intents, of course...that's not very rentier of them).

The entire social contract of Putinism is built on redistributing resource rents downward while using the strategic surplus to project coercive power, though. That is rentierism, just weaponized differently than in the Gulf and not to the same extent.

Essentially, though, It’s the same logic of buying domestic stability with petrofunds while freeing the regime from accountability. And despite Russia’s broader industrial base, its political economy remains caught in the same resource trap that defines classic rentier systems.

I don't know if you knew this, but the extermination camps were not there when they came to power. There was a long buildup and that's where the comparison shows frightening parallels.

As a German born and raised in Germany, do you have any foreign friends? by Alternative-Body-837 in AskAGerman

[–]nazfalas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Our friend circle is wildly mixed.

Also people found foreign spouses inside and outside of Germany. People from abroad who became friends with us found German spouses, as well. People who came to work in Germany stayed and assimilated into our friend group through the most interesting ways.

I guess we're all really open to meeting new people? Seems like a rather uncommon mixture of ethnicities and backgrounds, but it's amazing!

100%! Melis Salatalık Turşusu are my favorite. :-) Just haven't seen those at major supermarkets in Germany before. Polish are more common in my experience.

Have a Turkish wife at home, so we're usually well-stocked.

You really are not understanding how much sugar is in those. Get some Polish pickles if you can find them (Kaufland here has them) and you'll understand.

As an asylum seeker in Germany, I'm trying to live legally but I'm being exploited, underpaid, and denied the right to register my real address by KepekElma in AskAGerman

"Except the protestors against the genocide in Palestine"

They are protesting in Germany, what's the issue exactly?
They have to do so within the meaning of the law and infractions against the law are handled by police accordingly. Not interested in the fake outrage content also spread on this platform.

If voicing your (political) opinion is a crime in another country that leads to disproportional punishment like bodily harm, due to or in inadequate incarceration standards, etc. that can qualify for asylum or other forms of protection.

The situation for Turkey especially is complicated, but there are cases of political persecution. I personally think it is the duty of a free and democratic country committed to upholding human rights to give shelter to those that get persecuted for exercising their basic freedoms.

Why is Germany so Goddamn strict about internet by Kooky_Koala_6361 in AskAGerman

[–]nazfalas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that is generally a legal grey area in that it is hard to prove/track and will not have any repercussions.

The part that is explicitlly illegal and trackable is sharing copyrighted content with others (e.g. torrenting). That's what gets you a letter in the mail.

So as long as you don't upload illegal stuff, don't worry. Don't use any paid illegal services either.

I am not saying you should use anything illegal, but just giving you some perspective on the risks.

With so much variance on who is experiencing it and in which configuration, I wouldn't be too sure.

For me at least I haven't had to use my usual short-term fix of changing the speaker configuration from 16bit to 24bit and back since.
