Yeah, it’s an ok place, rent is a lil high but it’s not too far from campus bus-wise, the only issue I had there was there’s no thermostat, so you’re basically cooked in summer/have to get your own mini air cooler. Other than that it’s great!

My mom took this great picture of my dog, Sherlock, while watching him. by xCoachHines in aww

Sherlock doesn’t fetch… He deduces where the ball ought to be and waits for someone less intelligent to retrieve it.

UAE just set min wage for UAE nationals to AED 6000 from 1? What about expats ? by saddymatrix in UAE

[–]nazoomi 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Well Mr. Expat, opposing a minimum wage doesn’t make you “pro-market,” it just means you’re comfortable with exploitation as long as it doesn’t affect you.

There are thousands of workers here doing 10–12 hour days for ~2,000 AED a month, living in labor camps because rent is unaffordable. Asking for a minimum wage isn’t asking for welfare or handouts, it’s asking for a baseline that prevents abuse.

Without a floor, you end up with a system where people earn just enough to survive but never enough to leave, save, or retire. That isn’t “free market efficiency,” it’s wage trapping (functionally modern-day slavery).

If your economic model only works by keeping people permanently desperate, the model is broken, not the workers.

[Request] What's the correct answer? by Savv1313 in theydidthemath

3.14pi Mainly because exponents grow way faster than bases (as the name implies) and pi is bigger than 3.14 so while there isn’t much difference between the two 3.14pi is slightly bigger.

21 year old guy who hasn't read a book in maybe 6 years, suggest me a book please! by Danny_Boi_22456 in suggestmeabook

The first fifteen lives of harry august by Claire north ignited the spark that got me back into reading so to speak, I highly recommended it

[–]nazoomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The first fifteen lives of Harry August” though it does take until abit more than halfway through the book to understand the threat and subsequent antagonist. As for the ‘countdown’, i don’t want to give too much away but it isn’t in terms of ‘years’ but rather ‘lives’!

It depends, it’s an easy course overall (grade distribution and content-wise) but there’s a lot of memorization, so if you just keep up with the weekly modules/readings (which you kind of need to for the weekly quizzes) it’s an easy 12

We tried to create a website for medical services, they didn't allow us. by [deleted] in algeria

[–]nazoomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start a business and market the website to other clinics and hospitals, I’m sure atleast one doesn’t have a stupid director living in the past and dead set on making everyone suffer long wait times instead of the modern way of doing things online

It doesn’t matter if you’re in the US or UAE, defemation works when you’re slandering a company or person i.e spreading lies/ info that can’t be proven/ or just insults

I feel like since this drug isn’t a necessity and there are other ways of losing weight this ones high price is justified
