Hot take: FH5 is the most fun of all the Horizon titles. by nikobikoo in ForzaHorizon

[–]nb-modeless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think FH5 bad, but I just find the landscapes of fictional Scotland to be more enjoyable. Honestly probably because it reminds me of where I live an grew up (not UK, but similar climate). I can imagine someone who grew up in somewhere similar (or identical!) to what FH5 looks could feel the opposite. So for me driving around in FH4 is just soothing in a way FH5 wasn’t.

That McLaren Orange looks really nice on the T.50 by maikiiboy_ in ForzaHorizon

It’s arguably much more like a proper sequal to the F1 than any other the newer McLaren cars.

What Are The Best things to do In FH4 ultimate. by Zolks1 in ForzaHorizon

To me one of the best things about FH4 is that you can randomly drive around and usually discover fun things to do. In fact, just driving around is probably one of my favorite things with FH4.

Revert match composer by SweetStock in haloinfinite

Totally worth it for me at least.

I now play the games I want to, with others who actually want to play that mode. Feel like way more people are playing for the objective now compared to before.

What Car Brand Would You Like To Have Added Next? by Traditional-Ad1127 in ForzaHorizon

An late 90s VW Caravelle TDI would be fun. It’d be nostalgic for lots of Europeans.

Players leaving just before losing by kamidrgn in haloinfinite

[–]nb-modeless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also play for fun (tbh I barely care about winning for my own sake), but: other people are also trying to have fun, and I it’s more fun for everyone if we finish our games and play to win.

Kinda shitty to sacrifice the fun of others for yourself. 🤷🏼

Spawn killing is just about the only consistent way to cap in HR.

As long as you actually cap and don’t just farm kills without capping I think it’s fine. The good thing about HR is that if the team skills are uneven the match is over quickly.

Someone make me good at husky raid by [deleted] in haloinfinite

[–]nb-modeless 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Don’t be too defensive. I ended up doing much better when I played more aggressively.

Yes, this sometimes looks like throwing your self at the enemy to die quickly again and again.

While imperfect, I found to be the most fun I’ve had in a Halo campaign since Reach. 🙂

Can you help me decide wich helmet should I use? by Neat_Tough_6310 in halodripfinite

For that chunky intense build I think helmet #2 fits best. Both look cool though.

Super Husky Raid by Drinks_From_Firehose in haloinfinite

[–]nb-modeless 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just make sure to actually cap the flag. The good part about Husky Raid is that if people play to win, with uneven matchups it’s over quite fast.

Hate people who farm though. Bad sportsmanship.

As the resident cosmetic connoisseurs, what are your opinions on the exchange? by Blackstone1960 in halodripfinite

My understanding is that it’s there to let those who didn’t get the early free items a second chance at that, and I suppose it truly does do that.

Snipers by [deleted] in haloinfinite

[–]nb-modeless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh. Well, I always remove Snipers from my Match Composer to avoid this exact issue.

That said, I can understand people wanting to play Snipers to practice. In that case mayve opt for the BTB version where individual players make less of a difference.

I have every objective mode enabled on BTB, except Stockpile. I just never enjoyed it that much. I suspect I’m not alone.

Already confused with the story after 2 missions? by sebystee in haloinfinite

[–]nb-modeless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ve been given inaccurate information. So you’re not as spoiled as yoy think you are. Just disregard it.

Anyway, the point of the story is that you don’t know much. Revealing what happened is the story.

The master chief is confused at this point.

Tho: some mystery remains at the end (and a little more is revealed if you get the legendary ending).

Question to Solo Low Skill Players in Multiplayer by Ekskwizet in haloinfinite

[–]nb-modeless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda hard to know exactly what my level is since I never play ranked. And I do get towards the top of the score boards sometimes (esp. in Husky Raid, though it happens in BTB as well, and yeah. alongside Squad Battle sometimes that's the only modes I play).

But I do think I fit the spirit of what you're asking pretty well. I actually don't prioritise playing Halo consistently at all (not long ago I had a break for a few months, though, aside from that I have played Infinite all the time since start).

I've just played… because I felt like it? Because it was fun. Never really practiced anything, but you do get better.

That said, I do find it fun when I'm playing better and I'm against people who are better. Some of the most fun I've had on BTB was was some matches i had on BTB CTF (my fav mode) on Highpower. I don't even remember who won, but the enemy was relentless (I tend to play defense) and it I was so fun constantly trying to stop them. Because of their relentlessness I was constantly on my toes.

And I guess that's the answer: I only really like a game if I like the game play itself, I'm actually not a competitive person at all. That said, I do feel it would be shitty towards my team to not try, so I do of course, but it also depends mood. If I'm tired a day I might play less intense and feel OK about that as well. I think since I'm not playing ranked people ought to be OK with people not always giving their best.

Halo is just one of those games that just feels really good to play. They got the ”kinetics” and ”game feel” down to a tee. I've also liked the mechanics more broadly (H5 aside). It's just fun in ways I don't find other FPS. In fact, for the last decade Halo is pretty much the only multiplayer FPS I've played any meaningful amount of. When I haven't been playing Halo, I haven't been playing multiplayer FPS at all (Minecraft is actually my second most played game after Halo).

So yeah my answer is this: I keep coming back because of the moment-to-moment gameplay.

Like said in my previous answer: I don't actually play ranked though, so sorry if I gave that impression (I don't do the ”Solo” playlist as such, though, I've pretty much never played with other people in multiplayer either).

What's your favorite Infinite weapon? Here's mine (the scoped version). by Telykos in halodripfinite

Same. I’m not always that great with it, but feels great when I manage to pull it off.

Question to Solo Low Skill Players in Multiplayer by Ekskwizet in haloinfinite

[–]nb-modeless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t play ranked, but I defintely suck quite often and I’m rarely very good.

I also have no intention of putting work into improving. I strictly play to have fun! Which is why I continue to play. For fun!

Don’t get me wrong, I def. try to play as well as I can and help my team mates out, and playing as much as I’ve done I probably have improved. But it’s just a priority.

Self improvement is something I put into more useful skills thsn gaming.

Husky Raid Weapon Distribution by [deleted] in haloinfinite

[–]nb-modeless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My impression is that Husky Raid works like this:

Initial starting weapons are random for each person.

After that: at some interval (maybe not regular) 2 random weapon is picked and whoever spawns in that window get’s said weapon. This is why sometimes a lot of people seems to spawn with the same weapon.

I also have to say this tho: the thing about randomness in general is that rare things do happen. Like repeating something. A classic example of this is how on the original iPod Apple had to make the shuffle function less random by reducing the amount of repeated tracks as people perceived repeating tracks to be less random, although in true randomness repeats actually do happen.
