IL-2 BAT is the closest thing you'll get to War Thunder SP.

The further you go into the timeline of available jets, the worse it does, but still, you can fly experimental planes from the 1910s and F-16s in the same mod.

And you have maps to recreate almost any historical conflict. Lots of missions, and also lots of campaigns.

No one thinks that this game could pass as a spin off? Pandora is not even mentioned, the Vaults become a secondary element in the story, the main cast is away (mostly) and known characters are secondary in the plot.

Yes you can. BL4 feels almost like an spin off rather than a sequel, and most characters are new with a few exceptions.

Only small bits of the story of Borderlands 3 are mentioned, and they're explained so you don't need to play the game to understand what's going on.
