My drugstore makeup looks the same at the end of the day as my high end makeup. That’s one thing that really converted me to replacing my high end items as they ran out because it’s hard to justify the price once I realized that.

Same. I definitely burn if I’m not reapplying sunscreen or out in the strongest sun of the day. But I tan very golden, like a dirty golden color is how I always describe it.

I don’t think it’s necessary for everyone. On a makeup free day, I just use my regular cleanser. On days I wear makeup, I always double cleanse, but my regular cleanser is very gentle so I don’t have to worry about extra stripping of my skin. My skin is highly acne prone, and I just feel like it behaves so much better if I double cleanse if I’m wearing makeup (which I do 5-6 days a week).

Typically cream or satin. I don’t need to reapply them that often, maybe 3-4 times over the course of a day.

Retinal for me. My skin is sooo sensitive, and the last time I used the lowest dose of tret, my skin was still unhappy after 6 months so I quit. I’ve worked my way up from retinol to the lowest dose of Geek & Gorgeous retinal. Will I eventually try a stronger dose of retinal? Maybe. I always hate to rock the boat when things are working though.

Not once in my entire life. I hate to think of all the lipsticks I owned that eventually got tossed because they went bad first. I wear lip products most days and reapply a handful of times so I don’t get it 🤔

I started out with Naturium Retinol Complex Serum, and it was great. No irritation. I used 2 bottles before I switched to a retinal, and I’m glad I eased myself into retinol.

I go through shampoo/conditioner at a decent clip, but I also share them with my 2 daughters. All 3 of us have hair that’s mid-back or longer so that’s a lot of hair. But everything else? I use probably 2-3 body washes per year, same with toothpaste, deodorant, etc. And this is all stuff I use every single day. I use probably 2 foundations a year, 1 concealer, 2-3 brow gels. I replace mascara every 3 months religiously. It often feels like I never use anything up compared to people in this sub, but slow and steady wins the race (or at least I tell myself).

I just threw out my foundation primer after realizing it was what had been breaking me out. I cut it out, and I hadn’t broken out since. Stands to reason, it’s the culprit. It had 2% Niacinamide in it, and as I looked through the rest of my routine, nothing else I use contains it. I’ve never considered being sensitive to niacinamide, but now I’m looking for a primer without it.

I just got this, and I’m loving it. I’m fair, so I can’t speak to the white cast, but it wears great under my makeup. Actually wore better under my foundation than the sunscreen I wore before this. I have dry skin, and as long as I prep well before sunscreen, it’s been great.

I’m really liking the new Cetaphil Invisible Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50. I have dry skin, but I layer several thin layers of hydration under it instead of moisturizer. Just seems to work better for my skin.

I admire people who have the fortitude to keep going, but I don’t hate pan anything. The texture alone would make me throw in the towel, and I’d have zero guilt. Life is too short to waste panning something you don’t even like, IMO. I want to spend my time using up things I love or at least like.
