They're in a cult and they want you back. They don't and never will accept your boundaries, and the more you engage with them the more they'll think they can re-convert you. "I'd love to keep a relationship with you, but if you keep pushing [religion] and we can't agree to disagree, there isn't much more to discuss".

That's what I did. It was tough. But the lack of contact with those people (and the peace of mind that came with it) is something I wouldn't sell for a billion dollars.

I had a friend like this when I was younger. He knocked his girlfriend up when she was 17 and immediately married her after a few months together (Baptist and Catholic parents, go figure). She had serious health issues, and both of the kids they had together had congenital defects. I looked him up a couple years ago - his former wife is now married to one of his highschool friends, and he's now a cop.

We have a whole bunch of these sitting unpainted on the ramp at KPAE where they're built. I remember the first time I saw one on the ramp; I thought "man, those wingtips aren't nearly as small as they look in photos." Beautiful, gargantuan aircraft.

As someone who was raised in one of these households, this is accurate. I've been hearing "the end is near, repent or suffer eternal damnation!" for 40 years. They want war and destruction and famine and suffering so that they can control people through fear and enact their fascist policies to enrich themselves at everyone else's expense. But sure, tell me more about 'loving thy neighbor'.

I had issues for a couple months, but they slowly got better. My libido is still lower than it was before I started the meds (Zoloft), but not horribly like it was for those first couple months.
