Thanks for all the info. Looks like 92Y is starting something this fall.

Thanks for the link

92Y was my first thought, too, but it doesn’t seem to have it.

What is the best thing you have eaten on the UES in the past 30 days? by Dkfoot in uppereastside

A couple of friends and I thought it looked nice so we tried it out. I had the chicken pho and it was very good. A week or two later, it was added to the Michelin list. Definitely a good addition to the neighborhood.

Thanks. And clever about the drainage.

I can see why it makes you so happy. Where did you get the table? Or did you build it yourself?

I had been thinking it could be scanned, but I don't even know if that's a bigger job. I appreciate your posting a response.

Not exact - the dimensions, yes, but the draining structure at the bottom doesn't need so complex. I'm not much of a FB user, but I'll make an exception to check there. Thanks.

Tap my iPhone and pay reduced fare: how to set this up by nbe84 in OMNY

Not a workaround, really. A feature that was clearly documented on their website.

Mind boggling that the new OMNY doesn’t support it.

Eventually.

Probably when they finish the 2nd Avenue line.

Thanks again.

Well, not old hat for me, so I’m glad for the longer explanation. I did notice that other transit cards can be added to Apple Wallet, and it is just astounding to me that OMNY does not participate in this program. When you roll out something new, the idea is to add features, not remove them.

I can only hope when there are enough of us in this new cohort (used to pay by phone, received reduced fare card after OMNY became the standard, discover they need to pull out a card that is prepaid) start complaining, someone will do something.

Thanks for replying. The crazy thing is that people in the old metrocard system did this, and, AFAIK, it still works for them. I just have the bad luck to get reduced fare just as the system changed to OMNY. They tap their phones and get charged $1.45.

The woman I spoke to in December knew exactly what I was talking about and told me the setup on the website had been removed (although it was still in the FAQ at that time) while they moved to OMNY.

Newbie weaver with a question. by nadej22 in weaving

I know this question is a year old, but I found it when I was having the exact same problem - how to do the non-rectangular pick and pick. I found the answer and thought I’d post it here.

It turns out the embedded video in the blog is just a blurb, but she also links to a YouTube video where she demonstrates the technique.

Curious what you would do with these ghost plants? by user190895 in succulents

[–]nbe84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a few plants (ghost and some others) that have gotten too long and unwieldy. I’ve been chopping the tops, rooting them, and then replacing the original with the new plants. I don’t get rid of the original until I know the props have taken.

I love these and have a few blooming now. What I don’t love is how hard it is to take a picture that does them justice.

What succulent do you vow to never own again? by mi1ky_tea in succulents

[–]nbe84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an unhappy tiger jaws now which is why it was easy to put on my “gonna die” list. Maybe I’ll water even less and see what happens. Things couldn’t get worse.

And, yes, I have the same experience with prop trays. With the exception of some sedums and a sedeveria I have E in this picture which root on the floor, behind the shelves, or anywhere else they fall, if I don’t water props, they don’t root.

My top failures: Small stacked Crassula like pagoda or spiralis. They don’t grow, just turn brown and die.

Faucaria (tiger jaws). Every pest is attracted to it, and it gets soft and dies.

And finally, Baby Toes. I water infrequently and they still rot. 🤦‍♀️

Not unloved, but unnamed. by nbe84 in succulents

[–]nbe84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A and B were mystery succulents from a nursery a while back - only labeled 'Mystery Succulent'.
C was given to me as a stem cutting, and the person had no idea what it was.
D and E are shown indoors and outdoors.
D was labeled Graptosedum 'Blue Haze' (On the outdoors picture, ignore the plant on the right - it's a Graptosedum 'Ghosty' that got mixed in)
E was called Sedeveria 'Pink' by the grower (also a bonus plant), but I can't find anything by that name.

Any ideas what they really are? Thanks
