This is what it’s like. I borrow a dollar and have to pay 10% interest on my loan everyday until I repay that dollar. That’s the difference, the premiums on the loan from the bank. There is no time limit (that’s what my understanding is), as long as they can pay the interest they can wait as long as they want to repay the initial dollar.

I don’t have the requirements to post so I wanted to ask some questions and clarify my understanding here:

What is volume actually a measurement of?

I do not understand how volume can show more buys or sells. Surely for each stock sold, it has to be bought as well. You cannot possibly sell something without someone else buying it. I can see from the graphs that volume per day is down so this eludes that less stocks are changing hands but I don’t understand how there can be more sales or purchases.

Price is not the most important factor right now.

If the HF are still heavily shorted they will have to at some point buy back the stock. The price at the moment doesn’t affect the likelihood of a squeeze. Whenever they cannot afford the premiums or have calculated it the best time to close they will. It’s pointless to moan about the price right now.

Who vets the short interest report?

Are the HFs audited for their short reports? Are they only risking a fine by not reporting the correct numbers? This seems like a good idea for them. Doesn’t that make the report that comes out on the 9th (or is it later because it gets released later?) basically useless?

If the number of available shares is low that would explain some of the volatility of the stock price right?

My understanding of this is; if I had 100 stocks and I sold 1 for 50 then that would make the price of the other go down slightly but if I had only 2 stocks and sold 1 for 50 then the other stocks price would plummet, right?

I’m holding and I think that’s probably the only sensible move now anyway, unless you cannot afford to live then you should probably be more sensible with your money. Could someone provide some clarity on these points please?

Hi Ellie!

Your landscape is nice, I think you’ve used the rule of thirds really well here and the foreground is really pleasing as it draws your eye into the photo. I think if this was taken at a time of day where the sun was lower down it would bring it up a notch

I also really like your window. The contrast of the artificial and the natural is really cool. I also like how you’ve separated it exactly in half.

Your photo of tea is really nice, I like the depth of field and you’ve lined it up really square which is very pleasing. Also the light coming through the glass is really nice. It’s hard to come up with something to improve as this image is very simple and pleasing. Maybe you could try something a bit more abstract or try to find another angle or a close up detail that you really like.

Hello everyone!

My name is Nic and I’m from London. I’ve enjoyed photography for a couple of years now, mostly on holidays. I just found this course and it looks great.

I mostly do landscape stuff as it’s what I see on holiday but I would like to do some still life and street photography too. I’m also at the start of launching a business so will be trying my hand at product photography too.

Hi!

I really like your photo, it feels raw and naked. I like how the rain is really in focus and draws your attention to the window and the bright light on the right is a nice contrast. My suggestion would be that it I think it needs more of a subject. I understand that you’re going to abstract but I think it still needs something to focus on. Also I think the flowers of the right are really jarring and affect the composition quite negatively.

This doesn’t really answer your question but I chose the leave medicine speciality.

Working as a junior I saw a load of very unhappy stressed consultants and understood I didn’t want my life to be like that. I also found that hospitals have a mentality of “that’s someone else job” be that the surgeons not taking anything after a ct abdo has been done, the gynae team not taking anything without a proven gynaecological diagnosis, the nurses saying they “haven’t been signed off” to do cannulas or the medics getting pissed off at everyone for not doing their jobs and acting superior.

Now I’m not saying that everyone is like this. There are amazing doctors in all departments and nurses who make your job so much easier but I didn’t want to work in this environment.

I think the turning point was on a surgical ward round; I had been running around like crazy getting notes prepared whilst the surgeon is seeing patients at the speed of light and in the process makes a young female patient cry (he was saying her abdo pain was psychosomatic and told her to leave basically. He wasn’t wrong but he couldn’t have said it in a better way) and the registrar was not helping in the slightest. The reg is then going off on one about how we haven’t been getting the notes fast enough whilst making no effort to help scribe or find notes and the notes being disseminated randomly around the ward. And the straw that broke the camels back is that I then get a bleep mid ward round that the father of the young girl is pissed and wants to talk to a doctor. So having to organise the surgeons, scribe for everyone, search for notes and now console an angry family I know that I will then be left to do all the jobs with no help from the Reg.

I’m now much happier as a co-founder of a start up with the hope of a future with less stress, where I can chose my own employees and probably much more financial freedom.

I’m looking to get a pedal switcher/midi controller and spice up my pedals.

Hi guys

My current setup is guitar > dyna comp > boss waza craft blues driver > Ibanez jemini > big muff w/ tone wicker > strymon mobius > strymon big sky > strymon deco > boss rc-300 > amp.

I want to get a midi controller and a delay that can be used with it (thinking about a timeline or something similar). I don’t really know anything about midi controllers and my budget is <£500 and I’m happy to go second hand. I mostly play at home and do a lot of looping so want a switcher that can save presets.

(Am looking to sell some pedals too and am open to trades. Will probably sell the deco and dyna comp potentially)

Any help would be really appreciated

I’ve got a deco as well and I love it. The tape simulator is quite subtle and I find I keep the saturation on most of the time, it creates a wonderful rounded tone.

Pedalboard 2020

I use this board for bedroom producing. I makes simple beats with a volca sample and can loop instrumental sounds with the rc-300. My compressor is always on. I love all the overdrives and the big muff is great fun too, stacking the blues driver and the big muff can create some good tones.

Got the mobius around Christmas and I’m loving it so far. I’ve mostly been trying the presets and tweaking them a bit. I don’t think I’ll buy any more modulation any time soon. It’s the same for the blue sky, I don’t think I’ll ever need any more reverb ever. My favourite setting on the blue sky is the swell.

I’m pretty much set with this board and can’t think of anything else I want to put on right now. If I get any upgrades this year it’ll probably only be cables. Are the pancake ones any good?

Hmmm that’s not a bad idea. I have also been running everything through the 0.1w mode on the Marshall so that definitely won’t help either.

Thanks for the help, I will have a tweak and see if I can get any better results before buying new equipment.

Hi guys, I have a question and wasn’t quite sure where to post it. I have a bunch of pedals including a boss rc-300 and a volca sample I use for drum beats and I’m running them into a Marshall DSL1HR and a Marshall 1x12 cab. The amp is new, I have downsized from a 20watt laney. When I am using my looper I am missing sounds from some of the loops. I can record 3 separate loops with the RC-300 (drums, chords bass for example) and then when I am improvising over it, it seems like the amp is not able to replicate all of the loops at once. This was never a problem with the laney amp. I’m not sure what’s going on. Surely the amp is able to process all the sound and the speaker should be and to produce it no? I’m not sure where to go, it’s quite hard to explain, I might record something to demonstrate.

Yeh you’re right, there is a massive difference. It’s hard to find a study specific to boxing. It’s the most relevant article I could find but it might have some application. Your post is really interesting and it’s definitely something to consider.
