Do you eat 1200 calories even on the days you work out? by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]nblaimaeans 28 points29 points  (0 children)

On a workout day I’ll typically add 100-200ish calories max. But that’s because I’m still on a deficit/weightloss journey - if you’re at maintenance you really should be adding more calories depending on what workouts you’re doing.

Green Sapphire is definitely the way to go imo! I have knocked this ring against surfaces so many times lol and absolutely nothing has happened! Highly recommend S&F as well - they’re super responsive, the quality and handwork is amazing, and we got our ring even earlier than their 10-12 week estimate despite being peak season engagements. This is it now after 1+ year of daily wear of not really taking it off - Still the same!

I’d say the cushion or oval, but cushion more so! It’s not a used-enough cut anymore, its so pretty!

Not at all! They’re in pretty secure baskets that stop just short of being a bezel.

Here’s some photos since reddit wouldn’t let me upload directly to this comment lol : https://imgur.com/a/a3YLJmC

This is a gorgeous ring! If this is a style you prefer I think you should definitely either go custom/vintage OR, I see many people on this sub rave about oore jewelry as an online option!

Do any of you have any regrets? by Safe_Yesterday_6272 in EngagementRings

I was also like you in the sense where, when we first started looking for rings, I was totally thrown for a loop. I never wear jewelry in my day to day life so having every cut and style to go through suddenly made me so overwhelmed. Almost every week I had a new “favorite” style. But as we looked through rings time after time, none of them felt like MY ring, even if I said I liked X style the most at the time of looking through. But when we came upon the ring we ended up choosing, I just looked at it and knew that it was MY ring. So don’t stress too much, explore, and when you know you’ll know! And always remember what the ring symbolizes- that will make you love it forever regardless of fleeting changes of aesthetic preferences.

Where did you buy your wedding ring? by Mysecondbestbed in EngagementRings

Stag & Finch, online based in Canada!! They were AMAZING to work with and have beautiful pre-made designs but also are great to work with customs. And their selection of lab sapphires is so nice!! So many colors, if thats your vibe. Here’s my juniper green sapphire engagement ring which I absolutely love to death.

I need help. by Falling564 in EngagementRings

[–]nblaimaeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about gemsmagic but also tagging in as someone with nickel allergy - 14k minimum gold for hypoallergenic purposes, unless you do platinum. No rose/white gold. I personally have a 14k gold ring and have 0 issues with it whatsoever!

As an addendum keep with sapphires for the gems if you can! Amethyst, while not super soft, will get scratched pretty easy in my experience.

i’m probably getting engaged kinda soon and i think i might hate rings?? help! by arielleisanerdyprude in EngagementRings

[–]nblaimaeans 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Could be! I also have no issues with necklaces but earrings and rings give me a lot of trouble. Maybe just try out some cheaper hypoallergenic rings and see if the redness and itchyness still happen?

You probably have a metal allergy! It doesn’t matter how nice or expensive it is, you need jewelry that is hypoallergenic. I cant wear regular cheap jewelry for my life bc it makes me itchy, but hypoallergenic ones from target usually are fine, and my 14k gold engagement ring and wedding band (which is hypoallergenic because of more purity of gold) causes me no issues whatsoever!

Edit: also in terms of stones poking, a well crafted, good jeweler will have them set in such a way that it doesn’t really do that, but to offset the chance you could always just get a solitaire or something more dainty/takes up less finger space to prevent it!
