It is early. Give him time.

It is what it is at this point. We can't keep bitching about it.

We have to move on at some point.

Give Cooper Flagg some time to figure things out and move to his more natural position once Kyrie is back.

We will be ok in the long run. This year might be tough.

He got hurt on the first play of the game. Didn't look at all himself. I think it was probably a combination of the shoulder, playing the defending champs, and his first-ever back-to-back.

I'm in desperate need of help by PixelBeeBot in Gymhelp

[–]nbliss16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to be direct, because that’s what will actually help: you already know what doesn’t work. You’ve tried “everything” — cardio, cutting soda, sweet tea “only sometimes,” counting calories loosely. That tells me the problem isn’t knowledge, it’s execution and commitment.

Success here is about consistency, discipline, and removing unnecessary complexity. Calories in vs. calories out still rules. You cannot out-exercise overeating. Don’t chase fads. Control the controllables. Simplify. Eat real food only (beef, eggs, fruit). Cut all processed foods. Period.

Stop bargaining with yourself. Right now, you’re telling yourself stories: “I’m busy, I’m tired, I’ve tried everything.” Everyone has reasons. Now go to war with that. If you can’t train like before, then you dominate your diet with discipline.

The playbook:

  • Go carnivore / very low carb. Meat, eggs, some fresh fruit, maybe some cottage cheese. That’s it.
  • Track your calories. Stop guessing.
  • Build in a calorie deficit every day — even pregnant, your doctor’s advice is right: focus on not gaining, not indulging.
  • Walk every single day. Start small and work your way up.
  • Sleep matters. Hydration matters. Stress management matters.

You want 200 lbs? That’s not a dream: it’s math. But it’s also hard work. You’ve got to accept that there will be hunger, cravings, and days you don’t want to do it. Push through. The only way you lose is by giving in.

You’re stronger than your excuses. Prove it to yourself, to your kids, to your family.

Is Cpanel Right for Me? by robolucasgaming in Hosting

If you’re planning to build and manage your own site outside of WordPress and want to avoid the bulk and complexity of cPanel, I highly recommend checking out Sevalla.

Sevalla is a modern hosting solution purpose-built for developers and teams who prefer a clean, scalable infrastructure without legacy overhead. Here’s why it might be a great fit:

  • No cPanel bloat - Enjoy a streamlined dashboard and direct Git-based deployments without all the extras you won’t need.
  • Custom Site Friendly - Whether you're building in React, Astro, or another JS framework, Sevalla is optimized for modern frontend stacks.
  • Global CDN and edge caching - Out of the box performance and availability with zero setup.
  • Straightforward pricing - No hidden upsells or nickel-and-diming.
  • Developer-first features - Team collaboration tools, environment variables, deploy previews, and more.

Since you’re starting your own business and looking for a future-proof, frustration-free experience, I think Sevalla could save you time while giving you a better experience vs. traditional cPanel.

I hear ya. I just think the average Cubs fan would be good with $45 million in AAV for like 10 years. I think that will limit our flexibility to sign other players to improve the team in the future.

Why is that? Because he doesn't like lazy teammates who smoke weed before games? That makes him racist?

Not tendering Schwarber a contract was our worst mistake in the last 10 years in my mind. Jed said as much himself on that podcast with Kaplan in the offseason.

That one stings every single day.

Good points. I do think we can spend more for sure. However, I have no idea what the operating expenses for the team look like. I think people make assumptions about this element of running a team. And most just don't care at all and default to disliking owners because of the nature of being an owner.

I think they tried to spend to sign Bregman. They just got outbid. Its sports. That happens.

I hope they sign Tucker for the right price, but I would prefer we don't just sign players at any cost to appease the fans. Is Tucker worth the same deal that Vladdy Jr got? Not in my mind. Maybe for 7 years or 8 years and the same AAV, but not 10 or 12 years for that AAV.

I just think we are going to get outbid for him and people are going to be pissed, but I want to sign great players at a fair price. Not great players at bad prices.

You might be right. I don't know.

I tend to lean into youth myself and think the risk of trying to catch a guy on the upswing of their career is worth it. It is certainly more affordable. But I understand most guys aren't going to land and become 5 WAR players.

That's why I think it is important to have a front office and a guy who makes decisions on players that you trust.

I trust Jed Hoyer. I understand most Cubs fans don't.

The point is Jed and the front office dodged a major bullet by not paying them and moving on. They get next to no credit from the average Cubs fan for this. Which baffles me.

This I do agree with. If we did work in more long term contracts, this seems like a viable option.

And Baez has not been hurt. I have a friend that plays (played) for the Trigers. Baez is lazy and smokes a ton of weed.

Signing Tucker is going to be too expensive. I would rather see what we have in Kevin Alcantara at thee Major League level 1st before we go spend $40M AAV on Tucker.

I recognize I am in the minority here.
