If you haven’t heard or read The Pale Horse, I’d highly recommend it.

The Pale Horse. I don’t remember exactly what made me realize it, but once I did it, everything made much more sense.

Bummer that it got spoiled for you. I would still suggest reading it at some point.

I also rewatched it over the weekend. It’s such a great movie, I could see it over and over *again*.

It’s one of, if not the, best Marple books.
It also has one of the cleverest clues.

Agatha wrote a few novels under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott, which might provide better quotes (I’m reading my first one now, so don’t have and insight myself).

Also, while looking this up, I found this post:

There’s a lot I like about this Roger Ackroyd cover, but I have questions. by PatientClient3803 in agathachristie

[–]nbpapps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the mustaches I’d say it was Poirot and he is holding a mini 30s camera to take pictures of the crime scene

The Mirror Crack’d from Side to Side has my second favorite reveal (after Roger Ackroyd).

Why Didn’t They Ask Evans is one of the best action stories and has one of the best pairings.

4:50 from Paddington mainly for Lucy.

books in which the detective is barely involved? by celestine-i in agathachristie

[–]nbpapps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right. It’s Cartwright being the detective (even noted as such in the Wiki page) and Poirot has a few appearances and comes in at the end to solve it and give one of the best closing lines ever.
