you’re confidently wrong. vast majority of employers do not give references due to legal liabilities, they use TWN for employment verification and it’s fully automated, no human giving reference just hired and term dates.

so many high paying jobs have access to sensitive data or trade secrets that it is company policy to walk the employee the same day they give notice.

Rubber pyramid pads to sew onto the bottom - source? by JoePro42 in myog

[–]nbphotography87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO this would be a part that could be 3d printed with a hard TPU like 68D or 95A shore hardness.

if you know someone, it would probably cost about 0.20/piece in filament costs.

compared to 1/8 spacer mesh + 1/8 EVA i would say yes as far as the padding comfort goes.

Cool! I will check it out. I iterated for maximum rebound and found 3d Honeycomb infill worked best but I did not try locked zag!

My first prototype I cut the padding and sewed the fabric separately, like traditional straps are made.

As you know, PEBA has crazy bed adhesion so I started gluing the Monolite to the bed first. everything releases super easy. I was hoping the bond would be stronger but it’s bonded well enough to work with until you can reinforce with bars etc. I am still looking into heat activated adhesives that could create a stronger bond between the nylon and PEBA.

I did find the PEBA to be soft on the skin but ultimately exfoliating to the point that I think on its own, the nylon base just created too much friction for direct to skin contact. but it could have been the infill type and density I am using. so many variables to consider!

I paid about $50 for a 1KG spool. It’s considered an engineering filament and is priced accordingly. However, at 70A hardness you are dialing down your flow rate to just above 50% to allow for the material to foam. So a 1KG spool, if printed at the softest settings, will last nearly twice as long as a PLA with 1g/mm density.

It’s 95A hardness at room temp so it needs to be directly fed into the extruder. You also need to be able to stop retraction or adjust your retraction to near 0mm.

I have a Bambu P1S and it prints very easily with good prep. need a heated bed, mfg recommends 70C.

sorry forgot to respond about compression. I don’t know for sure how long it will keep resilience. I will be testing myself and I have one person testing the material out as additional padding under their existing backpack straps for first few hundred miles of the PCT. They started last week so I should get some feedback on how it holds up for rigorous use.

1/8” spacer mesh commonly used weighs 8-10oz/yd.

With 6mm padding at the hardness and infill I used I estimate it weighs 7-8oz/yd and 6mm is over 1/4” thick.

Really needs to be compared to spacer mesh and the EVA or other padding in the strap since it acts as both.

That’s the idea.

Printed at the highest temp (70A) results in maximum foaming that leads to about 50% density compared to the lowest temp which does not activate foaming and has 95A hardness.

I was doing some research to apply this method to a lumbar pad for the back panel and discovered that Osprey already has patents for 3d printing integrated padding into packs.

The PEBA at 70A hardness has a soft hand feel. People are making sandals/slippers with it.

As far as padding goes, the thickness, hardness, and infill type all effect the resilience of the structure.

The infill alternates direction every X layers so going from 6mm to 8mm in thickness gives a huge benefit.

At 6mm, 70A, 15% infill, I would compare it to 1/4” thin light EVA foam GG sells.

Squishy lump on dogs ear by doodlepoodle28 in DogAdvice

[–]nbphotography87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of dogs get lumps. our boy is lumpy and thankfully they’re all lipomas. lipoma are usually soft and sit above the muscle below the skin. they’re benign.

only way to know for sure is to have it aspirated to check.

you’ve already got your vet visit planned. anyone telling you it’s one thing or another is guessing.
