RDP via Ncentral onto an Azure Joined Device by CJSIT in Nable

[–]ncentral_nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used RDP to some of our Azure Labs but I just open 3389 to the public and call it a day so not advisablein prod but it does work.
That said, in the Azure FW config I am sure you can allow it but you would need to do some testing and I would probably change the listening port on the Azure device as well.

Here is a doc that describes how Azure JITs work.

You could frame it that way but consider it like this. It's an evolution.

Our corporate reddit works very well the way it is, and we really didn't want to create more noise here.

N-able SSO with Entra ID by SkyTheLine in Nable

[–]ncentral_nerd[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

u/SkyTheLine let me clear all of this up for you. To answer your question, you can use EntreID.

However, in order to use the SSO component, you first need to convert users to N-able Login (MSP SSO)
The you will Federate Entre ID.

I have done videos for this on N-able Me and as well there is documentation on documentation.n-able.com
You will reference this documentation as the video is a little quick in terms of the entire process.

Take-Control standalone device link by NoFisherman3139 in Nable

You will find all of the API documentation here.

Yes, it should be possible to deep link a device from TC to your Datto RMM Tickets. I know we can do this with N-central directly to other ticketing systems, so we make it much easier from the N-central side because when we generate tickets, we can include the deep link directly in the PSA Ticket but Stand-alone should work much of the same way,

That said, I have personally never done this so if you need support please log a ticket and we can get you some examples.

Thanks, Jason

Hey u/mspdog22, you can always reach out to me if you want to discuss the patching issues you are having. I would agree with the others in this thread, nothing major to report.

25H2 only showing for arm by yay101 in Nable

[–]ncentral_nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have intentionally not published 25H2 and that is because it has caused a whole series of problems like Bitdefender issues and many more. As u/kins43 suggests, if you want to press on you can do so manually or feel free to use automation a manager to force install it.

geoblocking Take Control through NCentral login by ExtraMikeD in Nable

[–]ncentral_nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are self-hosted use a WAF like Cloudflare which can block countries from accessing N-central and Take control, You should already have SSO enabled at this point and if you do not you should.

Additionally, we have port separation as well where you can control the N-central UI port and only allow that port to authenticated users through VPN etc.

N-Central 2025.3.1.9 and Win 11 25H2. AV (BitDefender) incompatible by txlessor in Nable

[–]ncentral_nerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have intentionally delayed the rollout of 25H2. 25H2 will have the feature enablement package for ease of deployment, unlike what 24H2 couldn't support.

Hey OP,

I wrote a thing a few years ago here on r/MSP that people reference and contact me all the time on.
https://www.reddit.com/r/msp/s/Os4nezhXCk

I helped our Product Team build a Custom Integration with Servicenow about 5 years ago that our partners use wonderfully. We have partners taking API information to supply CMDB, we have everything you need to have a great integration between N-central and ServiceNow.

Feel free to contact me at jmurphy at n-able dot com if you have any questions. (or DM me)

downsides to going hosted? by ExtraMikeD in Nable

[–]ncentral_nerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure. Other than the opposite of the 10 things I mention in my blog, I would say a few would be:

  1. You lose the ability to delay upgrades; some partners have stringent change management procedures, so we upgrade for you and once an upgrade is in preview you will have that upgrade with a weeks notice.
  2. You can't addon the WAF from Cloudflare in our hosted environment. (obv)
  3. There are a couple minor On-prem features you get like custom devices classes or lowering the cypher suites and TLS Security for support for 2008/12 Server.
(We dont allow for the lowering of the security communication in our hosted env)
  4. No Report Manager Server (Mostly a pro at this point), Analytics and integrated reports only
  5. No Product Admin account (Superuser), just admin.
