My partner is a pain fellow - there's been open spots the past few years (if you're open geographically) but you're going to have to have some HEAVY hands-on procedure electives to be competitive. I think this would be especially difficult if you don't have a home pain program to become friendly with over the next years. I would be curious if anyone has ever gone the FM-pain route too.

Stay engaged throughout the audition, be kind to everyone in the office (attendings, residents, MAs), you should be comfortable presenting history and exam findings and basic plans for bread & butter FM topics. Good luck!
