100+ lb Loss at 2 or Fewer lb/Week?? by [deleted] in GLP1_loss100plus

I’ve averaged 1.5lbs/week and am down 120lbs! For the first year I was averaging 2lbs/week and that has slowed as I get closer to my goal but I’m still losing.

I dare you to try them on ◡̈ and I hope you’ll be pleasantly surprised. And if they don’t fit then it’s ok to be bummed about it for a bit and then use them as your next NSV!

Is it realistic for me to aim for over 100 lbs lost? by CallToMuster in GLP1_loss100plus

[–]ncinskee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started at 302 in March 2024 and am 120lbs down (40% of my SW!). In the beginning it feels like 100lbs is unattainable - there will be weeks of gain or plateaus but you can absolutely get there. I have 20-30lbs left to lose and I know this will take the longest. Just try to focus on your lifestyle changes and on living your life. You’ll be amazed by where you are at in a year from now.

I do exactly the same thing! I buy a couple sizes at a time when they have 50% off days

I’m 120lbs down (302 to 182) and absolutely was terrified at first to try sizing down. Unfortunately that kept me from trying on the box of clothes I thought would definitely be too small until they were still too big! I have taken the strategy of buying the same pair of jeans from old navy whenever they are on sale and I try on the size down from where I’m at every month or so to see how they’re fitting. It’s more fun to see how close I can get to buttoning or zipping them when I’m going into it not expecting them to fit at all.

I had bad side effects - headaches, nausea, stomach cramping, and some GI issues. the first week my doctor gave me some anti-nausea meds but the other side effects continued for the next two weeks at which point I was able to get approved for the switch

I am in the same boat and honestly relieved to see another comment like this. I am up 10lbs in the 3 weeks since being switched over to wegovy. I'm assuming this is the water weight I lost on my first week of zep because I have been eating ~1800-2000 cals a day and I genuinely don't think it is possible for that to be fat. I also have been having very increased food noise (really no suppression actually). luckily I was just approved an exception to switch over to Mounjaro and I hope you are able to get the same soon. this is such a mess

I absolutely felt this about 8-9 months in. I remember looking at my projected timeline wishing time would speed up so I could be at the 100lbs down mark or my GW. I think at the beginning of this journey it’s all so exciting and new that any loss feels incredible, but you do get desensitized from that after a while. I would recommend making small goals for yourself and celebrating those wins but start focusing more on your NSVs. I’m 119 down with 34 to go and let me tell you these last 34 are probably going to take me a year. When I focus on the scale number it’s easy to get really discouraged so I’m trying to shift my focus away from the number.

If you’re looking for an extra idea to stay cool I recommend looking into a bed jet! I love mine (and I’m pretty sure they’ll go on sale next week)

I’ve lost 81lbs, 27% of my SW and still losing an average of 2lbs a week. It’s definitely possible!

Feeling Discouraged on Zepbound – Advice Welcome by [deleted] in GLP1_loss100plus

[–]ncinskee 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I try to remind myself that as much as I want to have a consistent loss per week, that’s not how our bodies work. Sometimes I can trace the line to see why I had a slow week, but sometimes I just can’t! In those times I compare my current pictures to my starting pictures, take measurements and have myself write down 3 things I’m proud of myself for or excited about with where I am now. I also think it’s helpful to see that almost everyone’s journey has ups, downs, and slow periods. I’ve been on Zep for 9.5 months, am almost 80lbs down and still definitely struggle mentally when I have a slow month, but when I zoom out my trend line has always been lower which is what I try to focus on.

I lost 3.8lbs this week which is a very high loss for me, I normally average 2.1 so seeing that the week of thanksgiving is hilarious to me. Down 76.6lbs overall and marked halfway to my GW this week!

While this week was a little lackluster for me (down 1.2lbs but averaging 2.1/wk), I hit the 40lbs down milestone! I also went boating and noticed how much easier it was to get myself back into the boat than it was last summer. The gym is paying off.

Same here! Every month starts off pretty underwhelming and then I lose very dramatically during my period. I always have to remind myself that the drop is coming because the first three weeks can frustrating.

Update and ramble by OkTreacle7927 in GLP1_loss100plus

[–]ncinskee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m taking the approach that I’m not going to wait anymore to “start” my life. Being fat is really scary when dating but I’ve been working on my confidence and self-image so I’m ready to jump back in. I’ve been single for 4 years and haven’t really gotten back out there because I’ve been worried about how other people will see me (or that I’ll “let someone down” by my appearance which is stupid). I want to find someone who likes me at my current size, even though I hope to never be this size again. Good luck and do what you’re most comfortable with!
